Mount Sinai’s Women’s and Infants’ Health Program is one of the largest and most comprehensive of its kind in
Canada. Some of the babies born here, like day-old Krishna Vivek Bhattiprolu, need extra care when their delicate
organs are not fully developed. Thanks to the skill of the Valentine Neonatal Intensive Care Unit team, babies born
as early as 23 weeks and as small as the palm of a hand have a fighting chance to have a healthy start in life.
Wayne Lee, Infection Control
Practitioner, discusses lab results
with colleague Judith Cunningham.
Examining bacterial cultures is a
critical tool in controlling the spread
of disease. Infection Control is one of
our centres of excellence and our
experts are internationally prominent.
Our Rapid Response Laboratory’s new
integrated lab testing system performs
thousands of tests each day, improving
efficiency in obtaining results for
patients.
