The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey is seek<strong>in</strong>g to fill a one year non-tenure track position, at <strong>the</strong> Assistant Professor<br />
or Instructor level, <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> area of Mar<strong>in</strong>e Science with a specialization <strong>in</strong> Mar<strong>in</strong>e Biology start<strong>in</strong>g September 1, 2010. There is<br />
<strong>the</strong> possibility that this position can lead to a tenure track position effective September 1, 2011. The c<strong>and</strong>idate should be qualified<br />
to teach Mar<strong>in</strong>e Botany <strong>and</strong> <strong>Ecology</strong> as well as develop a general education science course. Stockton is ranked among <strong>the</strong><br />
top ten small masters <strong>in</strong>stitutions <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> nor<strong>the</strong>ast. Stockton is New Jersey’s “Green College” <strong>and</strong> is located <strong>in</strong> Pomona, New<br />
Jersey about 20 m<strong>in</strong>utes from Atlantic City. In addition, it operates four small research vessels at its well equipped Nacote Creek<br />
Mar<strong>in</strong>e <strong>and</strong> <strong>Environment</strong>al Science Field Station 10 m<strong>in</strong>utes from campus. The College has a diverse array of undergraduate programs<br />
<strong>and</strong> new Master’s degrees <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> Sciences. It provides vast opportunities for <strong>in</strong>terdiscipl<strong>in</strong>ary academic <strong>and</strong> scholarly<br />
development <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> sciences <strong>and</strong> ma<strong>the</strong>matics.<br />

PhD is required for appo<strong>in</strong>tment as Assistant Professor, <strong>and</strong> ABD or a Master’s degree for Instructor. Excellent teach<strong>in</strong>g is expected.<br />
Strong scholarship <strong>and</strong> postdoctoral experience <strong>in</strong> Mar<strong>in</strong>e Botany are a plus; research <strong>in</strong>terests might <strong>in</strong>clude, but are not limited<br />
to: nutrient chemistry, ecological model<strong>in</strong>g, genetics, natural products chemistry, or plant physiology. Teach<strong>in</strong>g load is 12<br />
hours each semester <strong>and</strong> will consist of lecture <strong>and</strong> lab sections. Academic experiences with culturally diverse populations<br />
desired. Salary <strong>and</strong> rank are dependent on qualifications <strong>and</strong> experience.<br />
