13.If the transmission fluid is less than the specified level, add<br />

transmission fluid.<br />

If the transmission fluid is greater than the specified level,<br />

drain the excess fluid through the drain plug to adjust the<br />

transmission fluid to the specified level.<br />

14.Firmly insert the dipstick into the oil filler tube.<br />

Checking transfer oil level<br />

1.Remove the oil filler plug.<br />

2.Check that the oil level is just below the lower edge of the oil<br />

filler plug hole.<br />

3.Check that the oil is not excessively foul and has moderate<br />

viscosity.<br />

4.Install the oil filler plug and tighten to the specified torque.<br />

Tightening torque: 32 ± 2 N·m (23 ± 2 ft-lb)<br />

Change transfer oil<br />

1.Remove the oil drain plug to drain the transfer oil.<br />

2.Install the oil drain plug and tighten to the specified torque.<br />

Tightening torque: 32 ± 2 N·m (23 ± 2 ft-lb)<br />

3.Remove the oil filler plug and fill the transfer oil up to the lower<br />

edge of the oil filler plug hole.<br />

Brand name: Hypoid gear oil API classification<br />

GL-5 SAE 90<br />

Filling amount: 0.53 dm 3 (0.56 quarts)<br />

4.Install the oil filler plug and tighten to the specified torque.<br />

Tightening torque: 32 ± 2 N·m (23 ± 2 ft-lb)<br />

14. ENGINE COOLANT (CHANGE)<br />

Check the cooling system parts such as the radiator, heater and<br />

oil cooler hoses, thermostat and their connections for leakage<br />

and damage.
