WAKANUI
YEAR 5 KWW42
YEAR 2
High yielding feed cultivar particularly on
irrigated sites. Below average at dryland
Chertsey site. Good resistance to most
diseases, but moderately susceptible to
powdery mildew. Late maturing and tall but
with a stiff straw.
KWW42 is a feed cultivar which has
produced mostly above average yields
on Canterbury irrigated sites. Moderately
susceptible to both leaf rust and septoria
leaf blotch. Shows good resistance to
stripe rust and to a lesser extent to powdery
mildew. KWW42 is stiff strawed with high
thousand grain weight with low to moderate
sprouting risk.
