30 milling wheat cultivar descriptions
SAGE YEAR 4
Higher yielding milling wheat than
Conquest at irrigated sites. It has a high
protein content. Reasonably resistant to
disease with the exception of stripe rust. A
tall strawed cultivar with weak to moderate
straw strength so consider a PGR. Low
sprouting risk.
SARACEN YEAR 5
Saracen is a milling wheat that has yielded
4 to 5% higher than Conquest. Monitor for
leaf rust and fusarium head blight. Saracen
is short strawed with excellent straw
strength. It has low sprouting risk and a
high falling number.
