Carries out the tests of:<br />
all kinds of granular and cohesive soils<br />
geosynthetics<br />
and determines:<br />
physical properties (particle size distribution, water content, consistency limits, linear shrinkage, specific area,<br />
maximum buffering capacity, density of solid particles and bulk density)<br />
maximum and minimum bulk density<br />
organic matter content<br />
optimum water content and maximum dry density (Proctor apparatus)<br />
parameters of consolidation and compressibility<br />
swelling pressure and swelling index<br />
permeability*<br />
strength tests (shear strength, cohesion and angle of internal friction in a direct shear apparatus and a triaxial<br />
compression apparatus using the UU method, without consolidation and drainage, and the CU and CD<br />
methods, with saturation and consolidation, residual strength, determination of the shear modulus Gmax by<br />
measuring the speed of acoustic waves – bender element)*<br />
water permeability in vertical direction to the product surface*<br />
water flow capacity in the product plane*<br />
