The Group of Testing Laboratories exists since 1992. In January 1995 was graduated of accreditation of Polish Centre for Testing<br />
and Certification. At present, the Group of Testing Laboratories is granted of accreditation of Polish Centre for Accreditation<br />
(certificate no. AB 023) and meets requirements of PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025.<br />
The task of the Group of Testing Laboratories is to conduct the tests of construction materials and products as well as<br />
assessments of environmental pollution. For the needs of technical approvals and certification of products, laboratories carry<br />
out tests, which are basis for marking products with or mark.<br />
Tests areas: mechanical, chemical, fire, acoustic, biological, electrical and electronic, non-destructive, radiochemical and<br />
radiation, determination of physical properties, electromagnetic compatibility and tests in the fields of the environmental<br />
engineering, etc.<br />
Since the 1st May 2004, Building Research Institute is the Notified Body to the European Commission and to the Member<br />
States of European Union under the number 1488, designated for the tasks concerning with the assessment of building<br />
products conformity.<br />
Qualified personnel, having high scientific and professional position in Poland and abroad, as well as strong and modern<br />
research basis, are the guarantees of high quality of conducted tests. The Group aims to meet the needs of customers by<br />
developing tests methods, modernization of equipment and constant improvement of its own quality system.<br />
Building Research Institute is the member of the following organisations: Polish Forum ISO 9000, Polish Testing Laboratories<br />
Club POLLAB.<br />
Institute actively participates in building research activity on the international forum, among other by contribution in the works<br />
of Sector, Horizontal and Advisory Group of Notified Bodies and many technical committees, commissions and working groups<br />
within international scientific (CICIND, RILEM, EGOLF, ENBRI) and standardization (CEN, ISO) organizations, as well as those for<br />
assessment of building materials (UEAtc, EOTA, WFTAO).<br />
The Institute coordinates the Polish Group of Notified Bodies (PGJN).<br />
The website www.itb.pl includes a regularly updated PGJN folder thorough which current information on the work<br />
of PGNB-CPD is published.<br />
