Introduction to GPS and Geocaching (Parent and Child)<br />

Geocaching is the hottest outdoor activity these days. You will learn<br />

about GPS (global positioning system) and how to use it. You will<br />

also participate in a gentle 1.5-mile geocaching treasure hunt on the<br />

Kinzua Bridge State Park’s trails. You will learn to navigate through<br />

appropriate GPS screens, use the GPS unit to find a geocache and<br />

find out about geocaching etiquette. GPS equipment will be<br />

provided for use. Wear comfortable walking shoes and pack water<br />

and a lunch. Rain or shine. Class meets at Kinzua Bridge State Park<br />

Pavilion. Youths 10 and older may register with a parent.<br />

Wellness and Fitness<br />

Water Aerobics- 10-Week Session<br />

Make a splash with this fun water-aerobic exercise class. You will<br />

be led through a variety <strong>of</strong> low- to mid-intensity workouts that will<br />

incorporate flexibility, toning and cardio. Both shallow and deep<br />

water will be used to vary the intensity <strong>of</strong> the workouts. You don’t<br />

need swimming skills to participate. Bring suit and towel.<br />

Wellness Program<br />

In an effort to promote healthy lifestyles in our community, the popular Wellness<br />

Program will be <strong>of</strong>fered again. The program gives participants the opportunity<br />

to enroll in any one-credit physical education class* and have full access<br />

to all the facilities <strong>of</strong>fered in our Dr. Richard and Ruth McDowell Sport and<br />

Fitness Center. This program is open only to participants 18 and older. All<br />

participants are required to complete a one-hour student orientation program<br />

to familiarize themselves with the facility, rules and proper use <strong>of</strong> equipment.<br />

*Enrollment in any <strong>of</strong> the physical education classes is optional.<br />

<strong>Summer</strong> Term – $125 per participant<br />

May 1 - August 23<br />

* Courses are available as long as there is capacity after all credit-seeking Pitt-<strong>Bradford</strong><br />

students are enrolled in these courses. Wellness Program students do not receive any<br />

academic credit for participation in any physical education courses through this program.<br />

There may be equipment and/or material fee associated with these programs. These fees<br />

will be the sole responsibility <strong>of</strong> the participants. This is a noncredit personal enrichment<br />

program.<br />

OFF-Campus Classes<br />

Pharmacy Technician Certification Program - Warren<br />

This 50-hour comprehensive program will prepare you to enter the<br />

pharmacy field and to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s<br />

PTCB exam. Technicians work in hospitals, home-infusion pharmacies,<br />

community pharmacies and other health care settings, working under the<br />

supervision <strong>of</strong> a registered pharmacist. You’ll learn medical terminology<br />

specific to the pharmacy field, how to read and interpret prescriptions,<br />

and define drugs by generic and brand names. You’ll also learn dosage<br />

calculations, IV flow rates, drug-compounding, dose conversions,<br />

prescription dispensing, inventory control, and billing and reimbursement.<br />

$999 per participant, includes all materials<br />

Navigating the Internet for Seniors - St. Marys<br />

This hands-on class, designed with seniors in mind, will teach you how to<br />

use the Internet. The Internet is a big and sometimes scary place, but there is<br />

so much good information you can get by using it. You’ll learn tips and tricks<br />

to make your Internet browsing safe and efficient. We’ll cover connecting to<br />

the Internet, browsers, searching, bookmarks, Internet safety and much more.<br />

$45 per participant<br />

Micros<strong>of</strong>t Word 1 - St. Marys<br />

Using MS Word 2010, you will get an overview <strong>of</strong> Micros<strong>of</strong>t Word. Learn<br />

how to navigate and make the most <strong>of</strong> the tool bars. Learn how to create,<br />

edit, manipulate and save documents using this powerful s<strong>of</strong>tware. Your<br />

instructor will help you explore this program so that you’re more efficient<br />

and productive at work and home. Take home a laminated guide that will<br />

help you to remember the skills you learned and teach you new skills as you<br />

practice on your own.<br />
