1 Teen u Drop-in & Events Boulevard Teen Center The Boulevard is a safe, supervised, drug, tobacco, and alcohol free drop-in program for Middle and High School Teens. Activities are pool table, foosball, air hockey, ping pong table, X-box 360, Wii, secure high-speed Internet computer lab, movies, games, activities, learning enrichment, snacks and much more! Current student I.D. required. Daily themes include: Monday madness as participants will explore a whole new world of creative and imaginative games and activities. Tuesday be creative with paint, color, and paste your way through different art & craft projects. Wednesday is our wacky, wet and wild day as we play fun games with water and wild themes. Thursday tournaments will be our theme as we play the Wii, X-box, pool, ping pong, foosball and card games. Fun Fridays as we end the week with movies, games, and just plain old fun! Our fully staffed activities facilitate positive social interaction. Activities include basketball, crafts, movies, Wii, X-Box 360, games, contests, activities, learning enrichment and snacks. Age: Longview Middle & High School Students Fri Ongoing 7:30 - 10:30 pm Location: Youth & Family Link, 907 Douglas St Fee: Free Instructor: Recreation Staff Saturday Night at the Boulevard This program is geared towards Longview High School Teens who want to come and hang out at the Boulevard Teen Center on Saturday nights. The Boulevard is a safe, supervised, drug, tobacco, and alcohol free Teen Center. Activities includes are pool table, air hockey, foosball, ping pong table, X-box 360, Wii, secure high-speed Internet computer lab, movies, games, activities, learning enrichment and snacks. Age: Longview High School Students Sat Ongoing 7:00 - 10:00 pm Location: Elks Building, 2121 Kessler Blvd Fee: Free Instructor: Recreation Staff Volcano After Dark Trip Come join the Mount St Helens Institute and experience the volcano at night! Participants are introduced to the fascinating scientific discoveries being made at the mountain. The overnight program includes hands-on science as well as a night hike, astronomy and other fun activities! After a full afternoon of activities, you will camp out at the Mount St Helens Institute field camp, where scientists stay when they study the volcano. Participants will camp in comfort under two large sleeping tents, a covered kitchen facility, bathroom and campfire area. Our staff will transport and supervise participants as they take part in this unique opportunity. Emergency Survival Everyday participants will focus on a different safety such as home alone and lost in the woods survival skills. Participants will learn how to survive in the wilderness with a Search and Rescue, the importance of gun safety and the importance of water safety with canoes at Lake Sacajawea. Friday we will take a trip to Wake Robin outdoor education area. We will cover the forehand, backhand, serve & volley. Lessons will help develop hand-eye coordination, and improve muscle coordination. For beginners, the simplicity of the strokes we teach will give you ball control and the ability to play immediately.
