FLUHR, ENG’96,W’96 The Importance of Giving Back Jeffrey Fluhr and wife Claire, are quick to recognize the impact that education has had on both their personal and professional lives. Fluhr, an alumnus of the Jerome Fisher Program in Management & Technology, is the co-founder and chief executive officer of StubHub, Inc., the world’s largest ticket marketplace, which enables fans to buy and sell tickets for concerts, sporting events, theater and various other live entertainment occasions. The company was established in 2000, and earlier this year announced that it was being sold to eBay, Inc. Mr. Fluhr credits his Wharton education for instilling in him the knowledge and confidence that he needed to successfully start his own company. Both Mr. and Mrs. Fluhr maintain close ties to the Wharton School. They hope that through their generous philanthropy to the Wharton Fund they will be able to positively impact the lives of today’s students, placing a particular emphasis on the importance of social consciousness and ethics.
