LIFE IS ALL
ABOUT CHOICES
The biggest lesson I have learned from Arbonne is that life is about
choices … having them and using them to change my life and the lives
of the ones I love.
Two years ago, I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I
signed up to do an Arbonne home-based business. I really thought I was
going to sell skin care with the potential to earn a little extra money each
month. I wanted to be able to go shopping for my two little girls and not
worry about the cost. But what I have received from my Arbonne business
is so much more than what I had expected. My life and my family’s
life have changed forever. We have hope again. My husband and
children have started dreaming again, and are excited about the future
and what it holds for us.
This newfound life and future are full of endless possibilities and did not
come without great sacrifice. Building my business was not easy for me.
I have been stretched beyond my comfort zone. In fact, I could be the
poster child for Arbonne recruits with a headline reading, “If I can do
this, anyone can.” To start with, I have never been big on relationships
outside of my family. I did not have a big contact list to fall back on
when I was building my team. Second, I was not very outgoing. I liked
playing it safe. I did not go out of my way on purpose to talk to people
I did not already know. And finally, I hated sales. Obviously, this was
not the best combination to begin a network marketing business.
To top it all off, I did not even know what network marketing was. I had
never been exposed to the industry and did not understand the concept
of how things worked. What I had in my favor that was bigger than all
of those challenges put together was a strong desire to change my situation.
I was prepared to persevere and overcome any and all obstacles.
When President Rita Davenport said, “Shake hands with yourself in five
years — if you do not change what you are doing, you will probably be
where you are now,” I knew that it was time to step out of my comfort
zone and take back the choices in life I had let slip away. For starters, I
had to learn to trust and accept others, as well as myself. I had to come
to the realization that each relationship has so much to offer and the more
people I get to know, the richer and more fulfilling my life will become.
I now understand the true meaning of human resources. Every one of my
team members has different strengths, but together, as a whole, we are
unstoppable. I have learned how powerful thoughts and words can be.
With every thought that enters our minds, we have the “choice” to
accept it as true, or deny it as false. With our words, we can build others
up, or tear them down. I have also learned that true victory is not
the absence of problems, it is making the right “choices” in the face of
our problems. All the wisdom I received on the way to building a successful
Arbonne business has enhanced my journey to personal growth
and self-discovery.
REGIONAL VICE PRESIDENT
Through Arbonne, I have been given much. I have been able to impact
the lives of those I love by sharing this gift. I could never put a price on
the personal growth and friendships that were a direct result of developing
my Arbonne business. As far as our finances go, my family and I feel
as if we are living an abundant life. Getting into a Mercedes-Benz every
morning to drive my kids to school starts our day off with a sense of abundance.
My children are able to take riding lessons, something they have
always wanted to do. My husband and I do not argue over our finances
anymore. Instead, we make plans and dreams for our future.
For every achievement, I can look back and see a relationship that made
this possible. Like the ripple effect of a stone in still water, my team has
touched every moment of my Arbonne memories and made them richer,
one after the other.
To ENVP Becky Potterbaum: Thank you for sharing the wonderful gift of
the Arbonne opportunity, and all your help along the way.
To ENVP Holly Warnol and ERVP Candace Nystrom: My business never
would have gotten this far without both of you.
To my sponsor, sister and friend, NVP Scherrine Fleming: Thank you for
everything. We started this adventure together and will finish it at the
To my sweet and dearest friend, RVP Jodi Orr: Congratulations on your
success. We truly did this together. To the Jodi Orr Region: Thank you all!
