Sonatrach, main producer and supplier of Sahara Blend n n n n Created just after the independence, Sonatrach, today, has become an oil and gas group of international dimension. The prestigious track record dates back to 1966 with the construction and commissioning of a major strategic work : the Hassi Messaoud-Arzew oil pipeline. The marketing and transport missions have been assigned to Sonatrach at the date of its incorporation. In 1967, Sonatrach first marketing actions were launched with the distribution of oil products on the domestic market, and thereafter, early 1970’s, with the recovery of control over the mining sector, these activities were extended to export, turning Sonatrach into a full oil company. n In 1980, with the Skikda refinery brought on line as part of crude oil valorising policy, Sonatrach became a real player in the refined products export business. 5
