Gallery activities
designed for you
Learning to look at paintings, journeys,
exploration, maths in the museum,
houses and homes, materials, artists,
faces, animals, world religions….. if you
have an idea we can work with you to
create a gallery activity tailor-made for
your class.
Available all year round during
normal opening hours
Booking required. For bespoke sessions
we recommend that you book at least 3
months before you would like to visit.
Recommended length of session: 1 hour
for KS1 and 90 minutes for KS2
Maximum group size:1 class (no more
than 30)
Cost: FREE but if your school can afford
it a voluntary contribution of £40 per
group will help us continue to deliver
our programmes.
Learning outside the
classroom:
Whole day visits to Oxford
visiting other University Museums
and the Botanic Garden
Make the most of your whole day
experience of learning outside the
classroom.
Some schools may benefit from visiting
more than one museum or site in
Oxford e.g. Pitt Rivers Museum, Oxford
University Museum of Natural History,
Museum of the History of Science and
the Botanic Garden. This can work well
for exploring some themes e.g. Image
and Identity, Pattern Shape and Form,
Colour, World Religions, Animals,
Ancient Egypt, Materials.
