SEARCH FOR DOUBLE PARTONS AT CDF<br />

A search <strong>for</strong> double parton hard scattering has been per<strong>for</strong>med by looking in the transverse<br />
region in φ relative to the highest E T jet or Z boson in the event. A ‘trigger’ is used to create a<br />
pair <strong>of</strong> s<strong>of</strong>t jets in the transverse region. The trigger is checked by applying it to events with<br />
two distinct vertices, one having the high E T hard scatter, and the second being minimum bias.<br />
The trigger yields back to back jet pairs in the transverse region in φ in 1/1000 <strong>of</strong> all second<br />
vertices. The results <strong>of</strong> applying this trigger to single vertex high E T jets and Z->μμ will be<br />
reported.<br />
