OVERVIEW OF RECENT CMS RESULTS AT √ s = 7 AND 8 TeV<br />

We discuss the results <strong>of</strong> searches <strong>for</strong> Higgs boson and various new physics phenomena<br />
in the pp collisions at 7 and 8 TeV delivered by LHC and collected with the CMS detector<br />
in 2011-2012. A new boson with mass near 125 GeV is observed above the expected<br />
background with most significant excess <strong>of</strong> events in the two decay modes gamma-gamma<br />
and ZZ, results <strong>for</strong> combination <strong>of</strong> five channels are presented. Limits <strong>for</strong> new physics<br />
phenomena with various experimental signatures (dileptons, diphotons, dijets, multijets,<br />
etc.) are set. Results on study <strong>of</strong> electroweak and QCD processes and heavy-ion physics<br />
are presented.<br />
