Level II Summary:
Misbehavior whose frequency or seriousness tends to disrupt the learning climate of the school or schoolsponsored
activity. These infractions, which usually result from the continuation of Level I misbehaviors,
require the intervention of personnel on the administrative level because implementation of Level I
disciplinary options failed to correct the situation. Also included in this level are misbehaviors which do
not represent a direct threat to the health and safety of others, but whose educational consequences are
serious enough to require corrective action on the part of the administrative personnel.
Level II Examples:
Bus misconduct
Continuation of Level I misbehaviors
Defiance or Insubordination
Dress Code violations
Failure to complete teacher assigned
consequence
Failure to obtain an admit slip
Falsifying Information
First class cut (Saturday Detention)
Gambling
Harassment (verbal, physical or sexual)
Lack of respect for staff
Level II Response Options:
In-school suspension (Temporary or
Full)
Loss of privileges
Office Detention
Parental conference
Located in an unauthorized area of the
school
Misuse of school property
Possession of any incendiary device
(i.e. lighters, matches, etc.)
Possession of obscene material
Repeated tardiness to school
Unauthorized entering another student’s
locker
Violation of Student Parking

Level III Summary:
Acts directed against others or property, but whose consequences do not seriously endanger the
health or safety of others in the school. These acts might be considered criminal but most frequently
can be handled through disciplinary procedures in the school. Corrective measures taken by the
school are dependent upon the extent of the school’s resources for remediation that is in the best
interest of all students and school personnel.
Level III Examples:
Assault/Battery (i.e. fighting)
Continuation of Level I or II

Leading or participating in a walkout
Leaving school without proper school
personnel authorization
Multiple and/or repeated class cuts (Inschool
suspension)
Petty theft
Threats to others

Informal hearing with District
