Individual methods of education<br />
By the term “individual methods of education”, first association is on self-studying, but<br />
these methods are much more than only self-studying (1). In addition to self-studying,<br />
individual methods of education are also methods of distance education and methods of<br />
personal contact (Figure 8).<br />

Individual methods of education enable individualized process, oriented towards<br />
individual student (1,32).<br />
Today, with explosion of communication technologies, distance education is<br />
very popular, and it is not any more limited on individual distance learning only. With<br />
new e-communication technologies, also group distance learning is possible. But this<br />
group of methods is out of the scope of this module. Because of its expansion it needs to<br />
be presented in a separate module.<br />
Despite extensiveness of communication technologies, an important part of<br />
individual methods of education represents methods of personal contact education. In<br />
this type of education, teacher is in contact with one student at a time only (1). This part<br />
of the module will be dedicated to selected personal contact methods, being<br />
consultations, instructions, tutorials, and mentorship.<br />
1. Consultations (1,26,36).<br />
Consultation is specific teaching method in a form of a mutual discussion, advising,<br />
clarification of certain problem, and answering questions. In consultation hours,<br />
students could also get information about recommended readings and similar.<br />
Consultations are not obligatory method - students seek contact with teacher<br />
voluntarily.<br />
2. Instructions (1,26,36).<br />
Instructions are very specific form of communication between the teacher, and<br />
the student, and it refers to narrower segment of educational process.<br />
According to Dunn and Dunn (36), individualized instructions focus the<br />
instructional process on individual skills, abilities, interests, goals, and rate of<br />
