Crawford continues to grow its market share
in Texas and Louisiana with the opening of three
new branches. In 2008 Crawford’s immediate
success prompted the company to move into
a new, larger facility five miles from downtown
New Orleans. The new building is over 60,000
square feet. The increase in space presents an
opportunity to expand even further in the market,
and allows Crawford to service a wide variety
of customers, from large commercial developers
to smaller private contractors.
In addition, Crawford opened two new branches
in Texas—New Braunfels and Conroe. Both
locations are approximately 25,000 square feet
and incorporate many green initiatives within the
Sonepar BlueWay Program, including energysaving
lighting controls throughout the office
and counter areas, efficient fluorescent lighting
units in the warehouse, and energy efficient air
conditioning and heating units.
Crawford understands staying close to customers
require more than just opening branches. In 2008,
the company provided a number of value-added
services for customers, including training
seminars. In New Orleans, Crawford hosted a
four-hour seminar on the importance of electrical
safety around high voltage electrical systems. The
seminar drew an attendance of 25 local industry
professionals, including many electrical engineers,
hospital and plant maintenance managers, and
other qualified electrical personnel. The seminar
allowed Crawford to showcase its services to
the electrical community, and further spread the
Crawford name to the local industry professionals.
