School Board Members/ Scheduled Meetings<br />
Beginning in the 1990’s school board members moved from being appointed by the Board of Supervisors to an elected position.<br />
Currently school board members represent seven voting districts within the county.<br />
The <strong>Washington</strong> <strong>County</strong> School Board believes that teaching and learning are greatly enhanced by a school atmosphere characterized<br />
by mutual respect, cooperation, and self-discipline. The school is a community of common interests, and, as in any community,<br />
there must be a commitment to a set of values and expectations which serve as <strong>guide</strong>s for the relationships among the<br />
members of the community, and which provide the opportunity to function productively, successfully, and harmoniously.<br />
