Temple Israel Messenger SCHOOL NEWS Temple Israel welcomes our new school director Rhonda Levine: Is it back-to-school time already Although we’ve had an especially wet and rainy summer, sunny days are on the horizon at the Reba and Art Douglass Religious School. As the new Education Director, I am thrilled to be returning to the Hebrew school where I taught several years ago. I look forward to seeing familiar faces, and I’m eager to meet those of you whom I’ve never had the pleasure of knowing before. Most especially, I am excited to get to know all of our students as we begin a new year of Jewish learning together. I’m pleased to tell you that our school will be undergoing some wonderful facility improvements, such as new windows, better lighting, fresh paint and carpeting, all thanks to the kind generosity of the Maiman family and the Louis Wolf Foundation. A modernized, attractive learning environment will surely have a positive impact on our students’ successes here at the Reba and Art Douglass Religious School. With the High Holy Days fast approaching, we hope to see you and your children at our family-friendly Junior Congregation services. We are fortunate Rosh Hashanah falls on a weekend this year, giving our students the opportunity to be involved in the holiday on both Saturday and Sunday. We’re striving to make the services special and enjoyable for all ages, so I hope you’ll join us! Hebrew school registration will be sent out soon; please be sure to respond, so your child is “all set”. If you ever have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to call me at the school office: 342-3521. I look forward to seeing you and your family very soon! Shalom!
