Catch a glimpse <strong>of</strong> the Moruya Public School’s latest production. Inspired by<br />

Graeme Base’s work, the Moruya Public School has been creating a magical<br />

musical theatre work and will be providing a mere snippet to whet your curiosity<br />

and transport you into the enchanted world <strong>of</strong> the sea.<br />

Janette Dadd brings her poetry to life in performance. With a sense <strong>of</strong> theatre and<br />

audience participation, you will be indulged.<br />

SUNSHINE SUN 20 MAY<br />

2pm @ Narooma Kinema, Princes Highway, Narooma.<br />

Alma and Bill are in love….with each other, with dances and balls (Alma) and with<br />

big game fishing (Bill). They juggle their passions against the backdrop <strong>of</strong> the<br />

bustling town <strong>of</strong> Narooma in 1939 – a town <strong>of</strong> fishing, timber and shipping, as<br />

well as a summer playground <strong>of</strong> the well-to-do set from out <strong>of</strong> town. But war will<br />

soon change the world they know and love.<br />

A rehearsed reading <strong>of</strong> Sunshine will be performed at the Narooma Kinema<br />

– the original School <strong>of</strong> <strong>Art</strong>s building and scene <strong>of</strong> many social events <strong>of</strong> the time.<br />

This performance is part <strong>of</strong> the development <strong>of</strong> new theatre piece created by South East <strong>Art</strong>s and<br />

written by Mary Rachel Brown. Audience will be invited to participate in a discussion with the actors<br />

and writer after the performance.<br />

THE HANDSOME MEN WITH UGLY HATS SAT 26 MAY<br />

Presented by National University Theatre Society (NUTS)<br />

7.30pm @ St. Mary’s Performing <strong>Art</strong>s Centre, Queen St, Moruya.<br />

Two young men explore a series <strong>of</strong> short duologues, fun, quirky and serious, the hats tell it all.<br />

Remy Graham as <strong>Art</strong>istic Director <strong>of</strong> the National University Theatre Society (NUTS) has taken<br />

this student theatre company in new and interesting areas since beginning this role in 2011. He<br />

met Joshua Bell through his studies at University, and has since worked with Josh in a number <strong>of</strong><br />

capacities. Joshua Bell, has been caught up in this business <strong>of</strong> drama ever since his début role<br />

<strong>of</strong> Vimes in “Guards! Guards!” at high school. Joshua was a part <strong>of</strong> the Canberra Youth Theatre’s<br />

Actors Ensemble, when he performed in the play “The Messenger” as Marv and The Rapist. He has<br />

performed in many productions while at the ANU. These include; Orsino in “The Twelfth Night”, and<br />

Admetus in “Alkestis”. Other productions through the Australian National Theatre Society had lead<br />

him to perform Knocka in “Dimboola”, and Woyzeck in “Woyzeck”. He performs story-time at the<br />

library, which makes him feel like a Wiggle. His loves include both Improv Theatre, and existential<br />

dramas. Remy and Josh formed the ‘Handsome Men’ duo as they have wanted for a long time to<br />

work together in a more pr<strong>of</strong>essional capacity.<br />
