• Initiated testing <strong>of</strong> a “hosted” version <strong>of</strong> the ACMS system<br />
whereby the hardware and s<strong>of</strong>tware will reside at the<br />
<strong>Supreme</strong> <strong>Court</strong> and allow appeals courts to use the system<br />
via the Internet.<br />
• Replaced or upgraded most <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Court</strong>’s primary<br />
application and database servers.<br />
• Implemented a Citrix server and s<strong>of</strong>tware. Citrix is a<br />
program allowing Windows applications and databases to<br />
run in a World Wide Web environment. This system will be<br />
used to host various applications that can be used by local<br />
courts via the Internet.<br />
• Began a project to redesign and replace Office <strong>of</strong> Bar<br />
Admissions technology systems.<br />
• Initiated a project to develop and install separate<br />
development, testing and production computer systems<br />
and created processes to manage them. This effort will<br />
increase the efficiency <strong>of</strong> IT development and safeguard<br />
the critical application production environment.<br />
• Centralized the storage <strong>of</strong> application source code using<br />
Micros<strong>of</strong>t SourceSafe.<br />
• Installed Micros<strong>of</strong>t ProClarity business intelligence<br />
<strong>report</strong>ing system to begin building dynamic statistics<br />
<strong>report</strong>ing capability for the Case Management Section.<br />
<strong>The</strong> <strong>report</strong>ing system will provide a greater ability to<br />
perform data analysis and eventually will be used to<br />
provide <strong>report</strong>s to courts through OCN.<br />
OFFICE OF NETWORK & TECHNOLOGY RESOURCES<br />
<strong>The</strong> division’s Office <strong>of</strong> Network & Technology Resources is<br />
responsible for managing the <strong>Court</strong>’s servers, desktop computers,<br />
laptop computers, computer network, network security, help desk,<br />
IT training classes, <strong>of</strong>f-the-shelf s<strong>of</strong>tware implementation, copiers,<br />
IT purchasing, audiovisual system, teleconferencing systems and<br />
telecommunications (voice, data and video).<br />
TECHNOLOGY SERVICES SECTION<br />
<strong>The</strong> Technology Services Section <strong>of</strong> the division is divided into two<br />
groups: the Technology Assistance Group and the Technology Policy<br />
& Planning Group. <strong>The</strong> role <strong>of</strong> the Technology Assistance Group is<br />
to provide project support for the <strong>Ohio</strong> <strong>Court</strong>s Network project and<br />
to assist other courts in the state with technology-related decisions<br />
and projects, such as case management system implementation and<br />
