QUALIFICATIONS:<br />

I. A. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR CADRE:<br />

(i)<br />

A Master degree in the concerned / relevant subject with at least 55% marks or<br />

equivalent degree with a relaxation <strong>of</strong> 5% for SC / ST / differently abled<br />

categories.<br />

(ii)<br />

(iii)<br />

NET/SLET/SET conducted by UGC/ICAR/CSIR/SLET/ SET is compulsory<br />

along with one publication in NAAS (Natio nal Academy <strong>of</strong> Agricultural<br />

<strong>Sciences</strong>, New Delhi) rated refereed journal for disciplines in which<br />

NET/SLET/SET is conducted. Essentiality <strong>of</strong> NET is relaxed for the candidates<br />

holding Ph.D. degree provided it has been done with course work as prescribed<br />

by the UGC Regulations 2009, and having at least two full length publications<br />

having a NAAS rating not less than 4. Candidates with Ph.D. degree without<br />

course work will not qualify for NET exemption.<br />

NET/SLET/SET shall not be required for such Masters Programmes in the<br />

concerned or related disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.<br />

However, such candidates should have one publication in NAAS rated refereed<br />

journals.<br />

B. ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN CADRE:<br />

i) A Master’s Degree in Library Science/Information Science /Documentation<br />

Science or an equivalent pr<strong>of</strong>essional degree with at least 55% marks or its<br />

equivalent with a relaxation <strong>of</strong> 5% for SC/ST/differently abled categories. A<br />

consistently good academic record with knowledge <strong>of</strong> computerization <strong>of</strong> library<br />

Services is essential.<br />

ii) NET is compulsory along with one publication in UGC / NAAS (National<br />

Academy <strong>of</strong> Agricultural <strong>Sciences</strong>, New Delhi) rated refereed journal.<br />

Essentiality <strong>of</strong> NET is relaxed for the candidates holding Ph.D. degree provided<br />

it has been done with course work as prescribed by the UGC Regulations<br />

2009, and having at least two full length publications having a NAAS/UGC<br />

rating not less than 4. Those candidates with Ph.D. degree without course work<br />

will not qualify for NET exemption.<br />

II. Technical Assistant:<br />

a) A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized Agricultural / <strong>Horticultural</strong> <strong>University</strong> with<br />

good academic record with a minimum OGPA <strong>of</strong> 6.50 / 10.00 OR CGPA 2.25 /<br />

4.00 OR its equivalent <strong>of</strong> 55% <strong>of</strong> marks (where grade points are not in vogue) .<br />

b) A relaxation <strong>of</strong> minimum OGPA from 6.50 / 10.00 to 6.00 / 10.00 and CGPA <strong>of</strong><br />

2.25 / 4.00 to 2.00 / 4.00 is provided for SC / ST / differently abled categories<br />

(55% to 50% <strong>of</strong> marks where grade points are not in vogue)<br />

INSTRUCTIONS:<br />

1. The entire notification along with the detailed qualifications & application form<br />

prescribed for each <strong>of</strong> the categories <strong>of</strong> the posts notified can be downloaded from<br />

the website http://www.uhsbagalkot.edu.in <strong>of</strong> the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Horticultural</strong><br />

<strong>Sciences</strong>, <strong>Bagalkot</strong>. The candidates have to obtain application form through the<br />

<strong>University</strong> website only.<br />

2. The applicants have to obtain application form through the <strong>University</strong> website &<br />

enclose Demand Draft as processing fees obtained from any <strong>of</strong> the Nationalized<br />

Bank for `500/- (For SC/ST/Cat.I ` 250/- only) payable to the Comptroller, <strong>University</strong><br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>Horticultural</strong> <strong>Sciences</strong>, <strong>Bagalkot</strong> drawn within the period from 27.08.2012 to<br />

25.09.2012 only while submitting the filled in application form. Processing fees will<br />

not be returned in any case.<br />

3. The filled-in applications which do not accompany the prescribed fee are liable<br />

to be rejected.<br />

4. Separate applications with separate processing fee are required for Assistant<br />

Pr<strong>of</strong>essor and Technical Assistant.<br />

5. The SC / ST candidates those who apply for the subjects <strong>of</strong> Agricultural Statistics,<br />

Plantation and Spices Crops, Physical Education and Agricultural Engineering will be<br />

considered both under the current vacancies and backlog posts.<br />

6. The Backlog posts will be filled up as per the Government Notification No.DPAR 13<br />

SBC 2001, Bangalore dtd: 21.11.2001 and dtd: 01.06.2002.<br />

7. The detailed score card and qualifications for selection <strong>of</strong> candidates to the posts <strong>of</strong><br />

Assistant Pr<strong>of</strong>essor and Technical Assistant are in accordance with the <strong>University</strong><br />

Notification displayed in the <strong>University</strong> website http://www.uhsbagalkot.edu.in.<br />

8. The Minimum and Maximum age limit for the post <strong>of</strong> Technical Assistant is 18 to 40<br />

years.<br />

9. Ex-servicemen or children <strong>of</strong> defence personnel killed or disabled while in action and<br />

Physically disabled persons are exempted from payment <strong>of</strong> processing fee provided<br />

they must furnish appropriate certificate along with the filled-in applications in support<br />

<strong>of</strong> their claim.<br />

10.Knowledge <strong>of</strong> reading and writing Kannada is desirable for the posts <strong>of</strong> Assistant<br />

Pr<strong>of</strong>essor & Technical Assistant.<br />

11.The candidates who have studied under Trimester System and other than 10 point<br />

grading system are required to produce the equivalent percentage certificates<br />

obtained from the respective <strong>University</strong>.<br />

12.Working hours <strong>of</strong> the <strong>University</strong>: 09.00 a.m. to 05.00 p.m. (On Saturday 09.00 a.m. to<br />

01.00 p.m.)<br />

13.Applications must be accompanied by attested copies <strong>of</strong> Marks Sheets,<br />

Certificates, Experience Certificates, Publications, Research Notes, Certificates<br />

<strong>of</strong> Awards/Medals, Certificates related to past service etc. and the details <strong>of</strong><br />

research or related publication, if any, in support <strong>of</strong> eligibility.<br />

14.As per the stipulations in the Government Order No. ¹D¸ÀÄE:08:¸ÁÀ»ªÀiÁ:95, ¨ÉAUÀ¼ÀÆgÀÄ,<br />

¢£ÁAPÀ 20.6.1995, in case <strong>of</strong> non-availability <strong>of</strong> eligible candidates belonging to Other<br />

Backward Classes viz., Cat. I, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B, the posts earmarked for the said<br />

categories shall be filled-up by candidates belonging to General Merit and the unfilled<br />

roster shall be carried forward in the future advertisements.<br />

15.Further, in case <strong>of</strong> non-availability <strong>of</strong> candidates belonging to special categories<br />

under horizontal reservation such as Rural, Women, Kannada Medium & Exservicemen<br />

categories, the posts earmarked for the said categories shall be filled-up<br />

by other candidates belonging to the respective reservations as per the provisions <strong>of</strong><br />

the Government Order No. ¹D¸ÀÄE:08:¸ÁÀ»ªÀiÁ:95, ¨ÉAUÀ¼ÀÆgÀÄ, ¢£ÁAPÀ 20.6.1995.<br />

16.The reservation in respect <strong>of</strong> Physically Disabled shall be made as per latest G. O.<br />

No ¹D¸ÀÄE:107: ¸ÉãÉä:2005 ¨ÉAUÀ¼ÀÆgÀÄ, ¢£ÁAP 5 th September 2005 and ¹D¸ÀÄE:128:<br />

¸ÉãÉä:2006 ¨ÉAUÀ¼ÀÆgÀÄ, ¢£ÁAP 1 st August 2009.<br />

17.The applicants belonging to General category, who claim reservation under Rural<br />

quota, have to produce a certificate issued by the competent authority confirming that<br />

they do not come under the purview <strong>of</strong> “creamy layer” in the prescribed form, while<br />

submitting the application form, as per the Government Circular No.¸ÀPÀE:26:©¹C:2002,<br />

dtd: 6.3.2002.<br />

18.Candidates already in service (Government/Quasi Government or Private) should<br />

submit their applications through proper channel. Candidates anticipating delay in<br />

sending their applications through proper channel may submit an advance copy <strong>of</strong><br />

the application along with the processing fee. The original application duly forwarded<br />

y the parent <strong>of</strong>fice must reach this <strong>of</strong>fice within a week after the last date prescribed<br />

for submission <strong>of</strong> filled in applications. Such <strong>of</strong> the candidates who do not forward<br />

their applications through the parent <strong>of</strong>fice have to produce a No Objection<br />

Certificate at the time <strong>of</strong> interview, failing which they will not be allowed to appear for<br />

the interview.<br />

19.All communications, in respect <strong>of</strong> applications for recruitment against the posts<br />

advertised by the <strong>University</strong>, should be addressed to the Registrar, <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>Horticultural</strong> <strong>Sciences</strong>, Sector No.60, Navanagar, <strong>Bagalkot</strong> - 587 103<br />

(Karnataka).<br />

20.The vacancies now notified are provisional and are subject to variations.<br />

<strong>University</strong> reserves the right to fill-in any or all the vacancies.<br />

21.Filled-in applications together with copies <strong>of</strong> testimonials should also be sent in an<br />

envelope, superscribing on it, “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF<br />

____________________________” to THE REGISTRAR, UNIVERSITY OF<br />

HORTICULTURAL SCIENCES, SECTOR NO.60, NAVANAGAR, BAGALKOT-<br />

587 103 (KARNATAKA) on or before 5.00 pm on 25.09.2012 from the candidates<br />

staying in India and abroad. The candidates staying abroad may also download the<br />

application form from the university website (www.uhsbagalkot.edu.in) and submit<br />

the application forms along with the relevant documents and the prescribed fee in<br />

foreign currency.<br />

22.Applications / any other documents received after the last date and also incomplete<br />

applications will be rejected. The <strong>University</strong> is not responsible for the postal delay.<br />

23.Furnishing any false information in the application form shall hold the candidate liable<br />

to action deemed fit.<br />

24.Only short listed candidates based on the order <strong>of</strong> merit in the essential qualification<br />

prescribed for the post will be called for interview in the ratio <strong>of</strong> 1:10. However, all<br />

eligible Ph. D. degree holders are exempted from this condition for the post <strong>of</strong><br />

Assistant Pr<strong>of</strong>essor. The candidates have to attend the interview at their own cost.<br />

25.No recommendations should be forwarded to the <strong>University</strong>. Canvassing in any form<br />

amounts to disqualify the candidature.<br />

26.The selected candidates are liable to be transferred anywhere in Karnataka to the<br />

Colleges/Research Stations/Extension Centres etc., coming under the <strong>University</strong><br />

jurisdiction and also they will be coming under the New Pension Scheme as per<br />

Government Order No. FD(SN) 04 PET 2006, dtd. 31.03.2006 and as amended from<br />

time to time.<br />

27.The appointed candidates are governed by the Rules and Regulations <strong>of</strong> the<br />

<strong>University</strong>.<br />
