student of the Department of Environmental Systems Science of the <strong>ETH</strong> Zurich.<br />

1. General clauses<br />

This contract is based on the programme regulations 2006 of the Master programme in<br />

Environmental Sciences Art. 17, § 3, Art. 26 and 37, ed. 16.11.2010-5 (RS<strong>ETH</strong>Z 324.1.1002.10).<br />

The trainee will perform tasks to the best of his/her ability.<br />

2. Duration of the work experience<br />

The work experience will last for a period of at least eighteen (18) weeks, including holidays. The<br />

work experience will begin on ___________ and will be completed on ___________. The trainee<br />

will work _______ hours per week. If the trainee is incapacitated due to sickness or accident for a<br />

period of more than two (2) weeks the loss of working hours will be made up for.<br />

5. Insurances<br />

The trainee is insured against all medical costs arising from accident through the obligatory health<br />

insurance in accordance with the Federal Law on Health Insurance.<br />

The trainee is insured/not insured (please cross out whichever does not apply) against liability on<br />

the basis of the liability insurance of the company.<br />

6. Confidential information<br />

The trainee undertakes to respect the company’s confidential information; he/she will be informed<br />

of such confidential nature by the company. The confidential sections of the work experience<br />

report will be drafted in general terms or will be excluded from the report, if the company so<br />

desires, provided that the report as a whole does not lose its validity. Should essential parts of the<br />

report be thus affected, these sections shall be drafted separately and with the company’s consent<br />

will be assessed only by the supervising lecturer of the <strong>ETH</strong> Zurich. This section of the report will<br />

not be made generally available. If necessary, the entire work experience report can be so treated.<br />

7. Disputes<br />

If differences between the company and the trainee arise, attempts will be made to solve them<br />

through personal talks. If either party so desires, or in a case where no agreement can be<br />

reached, the practical advisory service of the Master programme in Environmental Sciences will be<br />

called upon to mediate.<br />

8. Completion of work experience<br />

Upon completion of the work experience the company will issue the trainee a written certificate of<br />

employment. The company will fill in the form “Acceptance of the work experience report(s) and<br />

publishing agreement” and the questionnaire “Company’s final evaluation of the work experience”.<br />

This contract will be drawn up in two copies. One copy will remain with the company; the other<br />

copy will be given to the trainee.<br />
