Miscellaneous 

1 No surcharges for night-, weekend-, holiday work, drift ice or fog. 

2 Assistance of dead ships: 50% surcharge on applicable rates. 

3 In case our bunker purchase price exceeds € 160 per cbm: 

a bunker surcharge as per actual price and average consumption will be charged 

(copies of bunker surcharge table available upon request). 

4 The above rates are not applicable for rendering emergency-services. 

5 Waiting prior to start of harbour assistance (in excess of 30 minutes): 50% of hourly rate. 

Holding astream: at hourly rate. 

6 In case of tug cancellation less than one hour prior to anticipated commencement: 50% of applicable rate.

A2 For mooring a vessel during a gale or a vessel broken adrift in the harbour, the tariff of mooring under A1, increased 

by 50% is applicable. 

A3 Extra linesmen: If, due to circumstances, the customary crew is not sufficient a pro-rated share of the tariff will be 

charged for each additional man. 

A4 For rendering assistance on board vessels entering or leaving the port, € 59,00 per man per hour will be charged with 

the minimum of 2 hours. Excluded travelling costs. 

A5 For mooring/unmooring a vessel not being a vessel (e.g. an offshore-vessel) a tariff will be procured on application. 

Waiting time 

A6 If linesmen are kept waiting for more than 30 minutes after the appointed hour given in the orders when any services 

under A1 to A2 should have begun, a surcharge per hour is due beginning at the end of the 30 minute period and 

continuing until the actual start of the work, this surcharge is as follows:

Countermanding 

A7 If any services listed in A1 to A2 are cancelled within one hour before the appointed hour given in the orders when 

the work should have begun and the assigned linesmen have already left their station, the charges under A6 are due. 

A7 a If the services listed in A4 are cancelled within two hours before the appointed hour given in the orders when the work 

should have begun, 50% of the tariff given in A4 will be due. 

Company transportation 

B1 A manned motor launch can be made available on behalf of a specific company, agency or a Governmental Department. 

The tariffs are mentioned in the motor launch tariffs. The tariffs mentioned in the motor launch are applicable in the 

Rotterdam Waterway or adjacent harbours only in connection with the cargo of the sea-going vessel. 

Communication by launch 

B2 A manned motor launch can be made available on behalf of a specific vessel for the transportation to the nearest 

landing point of crew, relatives of the crew, personnel of the owner and his agents and for watchmen and officials for 

their activities on board, the tariffs mentioned in the motor launch tariffs are applicable. 

B3 Transportation by motor launch as described in B2 of personnel other than those listed can in advance be arranged with 

the principal. The tariff in B2 will be increased by a maximum of 50%. This tariff is applicable only if the motor launch 

has been ordered for a period of 8 hours or more. 

General surcharges 

C1 For services during weekends and holidays, a 35% surcharge is due over and above all the tariffs mentioned above. 

C2 During ice drift a surcharge is due over and above the tariffs and surcharges listed under A1 to A2 a , A5, B1, B2 en B3. 

The extent of this ice surcharge is dependent on the extent of the ice drift, but not higher than 100%. 

C3 Value added tax is due on the tariffs listed in B1.

4 The “N.B.C.2002” conditions, filed at the Rotterdam County Court on January 2002, will be applicable to all our 

operations and services at all times.

Vessels with a draught of 57 ft (174 dm) and above are committed to proceed through the Euro channel, for which 

the Rotterdam pilots shall charge 1.5 times the resp. seapilotage dues distance charge < 8 miles. This surcharge 

has not been included in the resp. column. 

If a request for a pilot is changed, cancelled or dismissed, an amount of € 122.00 + € 49.00 forfait is charged. 

Detention money for chartered pilots: € 489.00 per 24 hours or part thereof plus travelling expenses. 

In addition to the usual fee charged for pilotage to and from the port, a charge of € 3,752.00 for rendez-vous 

(deep draught channel) will be levied for the transport of pilots by helicopter. (No additional charge for pilot station 

when pilotage is suspended.)

WASTE DISPOSAL 



Fees 

Direct Fee 

The legislation stipulates that all ships will have to pay an indirect fee for their ship-generated waste, whether or not they 

actually dispose of their waste. Rotterdam has opted for an indirect fee system based upon Main Engine Capacity (MEC). 

The indirect fee is to be paid to the Rotterdam Port Authority as a separate fee along with the harbour dues.

You will have to pay a direct fee, on top of and without any right of refund of the indirect fee, for: 

• Extra costs for collection, transport and processing of Annex I Oily waste; 

• Delivery of Annex V Domestic waste to a waste processor other than Bek en Verburg; 

• Disposal of ship-generated waste other than oily waste and domestic waste, e.g. sewage, 

and cargo-associated waste (dunnage etc.); 

• Disposal of cargo residues (solid cargo, cargo oil slops, chemical residues). 

The additional and direct fee will be charged separately by the waste collector to the ship’s agent. 

Exemptions 

In order to qualify for an exemption from notification, from paying the indirect fee and/or the mandatory discharge, your ship 

must call at the Rotterdam Port Region at least once every 14 days, have a published sailing schedule and pay a fee for an 

adequate disposal arrangement in one of the ports within the EU listed on the sailing schedule. Some categories of ships 

can be excluded from paying the indirect fee: pontoons, oil rigs, platforms, dredgers (employed on behalf of the Port of 

Rotterdam Authority or employed by the Government and only when they have discharged at the Slufter), sounding vessels, 

civil-service vessels, ships in distress, ships in transit to the hinterland and tugs or utility vessels who have Rotterdam as 

port of origin and have a contract with a waste collector. If a ship uses only marine diesel oil or marine gas oil, the ship’s 

agent can request exemption from the indirect oily waste fee.

processing costs. 

Additional fee 

You will have to pay an additional fee, on top of the indirect fee, for: 

• Quantities of waste exceeding the maximum amount as indicated in the table above; 

• Poor-quality waste, which falls outside the set parameters (Maritime > Sea Shipping > Waste Disposal); 

• Disposal of domestic waste between 17.30 and 07.30 from Monday to Saturday, on Sundays 

(whole day) and on public holidays.
