BA Humanities (Part-time) degree Programme / Rhaglen Radd BA yn y dyniaethau (Rhan-amser)
Structure oF the programme / Strwythur y rhaglen
The part-time degree is a flexible programme which allows
students the option to study a variety of courses on campus
and/or at community venues at different times of the day. For
example, a student may choose to study sociology on campus
during the evening and history at Neath during the day.
Students can gain a BA Honours degree in Humanities or a ‘named
degree’ in English or History (dependent on module choice).
In order to achieve a BA Honours degree student must accumulate
360 credits. They must achieve 120 credits at each of the three
levels of the programme. Students normally pursue two courses
per year where each course is worth 30 credits. Upon successful
completion of each course students will gain 60 credits per year. It
is therefore possible to gain an honours degree in a minimum of
six years. Students may, however, take longer than this but studies
must be completed within ten years of initial enrolment.
In order for us to reach as many students as possible, in addition
to being able to reach relatively small groups in the community,
we are expanding the innovative use of video-conferencing on
our programme.
We will be using courses taught to students on the Swansea
University campus and simultaneously transmitting them to classes
in Pembrokeshire. This year these will all be at Level 1, 2 and
3. English and History will be offered in Pembrokeshire College
and English, History and Sociology at the Fishguard Community
Learning Centre.
Mae’r radd ran-amser yn rhaglen hyblyg sy’n galluogi myfyrwyr
i ddewis astudio ystod o gyrsiau ar y campws a/neu mewn
lleoliadau cymunedol ar amserau gwahanol o’r dydd. Er
enghraifft, caiff myfyriwr ddewis astudio cymdeithaseg ar y
campws gyda’r hwyr, a hanes yng Nghastell-nedd yn ystod y
dydd.
Gall myfyrwyr ennill gradd BA Anrhydedd yn y Dyniaethau, neu
‘radd a enwir’ mewn Saesneg neu Hanes (gan ddibynnu ar y
modiwlau a ddewisir).
I ennill gradd BA Anrhydedd, rhaid i fyfyriwr gasglu 360 o
gredydau. Rhaid ennill 120 o gredydau ar bob un o dair lefel y
rhaglen. Fel arfer, mae myfyrwyr yn dilyn dau gwrs bob blwyddyn,
ac mae pob cwrs yn werth 30 credyd. Wrth gwblhau pob cwrs yn
llwyddiannus, byddai myfyriwr yn ennill 60 credyd y flwyddyn.
Felly, mae’n bosibl ennill gradd anrhydedd mewn isafswm o chwe
blynedd. Fodd bynnag, gall myfyrwyr gymryd mwy o amser na
hyn, ond rhaid cwblhau’r astudio o fewn deng mlynedd ar ôl
cofrestru.
Video-conFerencing oF courSeS / cyrSiau trwy Fideo-gynadledda
Er mwyn gallu cyrraedd cymaint o fyfyrwyr â phosib ac er mwyn
gallu gwasanaethu grwpiau gweddol fychan yn y gymuned, yr
ydym yn ehangu’r defnydd arloesol o fideo-gynadledda ar ein
rhaglen.
Bydd cyrsiau sy’n cael eu dysgu i fyfyrwyr ar gampws Prifysgol
Abertawe yn cael eu trosglwyddo’n fyw i ddosbarthiadau yn Sir
Benfro. Eleni, byddwn yn cynnig y dosbarthiadau hyn ar Lefelau 1,
2 a 3. Byddir yn cynnig Saesneg a Hanes yng Ngholeg Sir Benfro
a Saesneg, Hanes, a Chymdeithaseg yng Nghanolfan Addysg
Gymunedol Abergwaun.
