The 3rd Annual Slow Food + Locust Grove Family Picnic<br />

Sunday, <strong>August</strong> 22nd. 11:00-4:00. $5.00 per carload, free to walkers, joggers and cyclists.<br />

Locust Grove Historic Home, Blakenbaker Lane, <strong>Louisville</strong>. This year it will be all about<br />

heirlooms: plants, animals and traditions. We will a showcase the farmers and producers<br />

in our area who are preserving bio diversity and making our food choices plentiful.<br />

Guest speakers will lecture on various topics including<br />

seed saving, soil building, organic gardening, preserving<br />

food, and more. Come see live heritage breeds of animals<br />

and The Cast Iron - Open Fire Cookoff featuring a secret ingredient. There will be artists<br />

and craftspersons selling handmade items, and local chefs preparing delicious Slow<br />

inspired food. Sustainable agriculture non profits groups will share information on the<br />

work they are doing for the community. This old fashioned family fun day is a great<br />

time to see the extensive restoration of Locust Grove, one of Kentucky’s most cherished<br />

Foxhollow…Nature Trail & Farm Tours Now Open!<br />

Free for everyone! Come take a self-guided tour of Foxhollow Farm and hike our brand new<br />

Nature Trail! Foxhollow Farm is 1,300 acres of beautiful farmland and woodlands for you to<br />

explore, get a breath of fresh air, and reconnect with nature. Tuesday – Friday 11am to 6pm<br />

& Saturday 9am to 5pm. Guided tours will be held the last<br />

Tuesday of every month and are available upon request. For<br />
