Customs Posts and Their Activities<br />
With a view to improving the methods of activity administration, submitting reliable and constantly updated<br />
information by using electronic means, the “paper” passport of a Customs post was changed by the order of the Director<br />
General of the Customs Department and its new version was validated on 1 October 2006.<br />
Road posts<br />
The activity of the Medininkai border control point was introduced to the representatives of the Finnish, Polish and<br />
Turkish Customs Services. A meeting of the working group of the representatives from the Lithuanian and Belarus<br />
Customs Services, where the representatives from the Belarus Customs were familiarised with the achievements of the<br />
Lithuanian Customs in the area of co–operation between the Customs and business entities, as well as a meeting of the<br />
Heads of the Lithuanian, Latvian and Belarus Customs Services, where the most often problems on the carriage of goods<br />
via the territory of Belarus were discussed, were also organised at this post.<br />
Seaport posts<br />
The Rules for accomplishing Cus–<br />
toms formalities by using the informa–<br />
tion system LIS (ship identification<br />
system) of the SE Klaipėda State Sea–<br />
port Authority were prepared and the<br />
number and rights of the users of LIS<br />
module were established. Since 1 May<br />
2006, the Customs has been applying<br />
LIS data for risk analysis, registration<br />
of Customs permits to load/unload<br />
ships and ship files.<br />
With a view to expanding the<br />
exchange of data between the Customs<br />
and traders, the Customs participated<br />
in the project of introduction of the<br />
information system KIPIS designed<br />
for cargoes and goods carried via the<br />
Klaipėda State Seaport; the owner<br />
of the system is the Klaipėda State<br />
Seaport Authority.<br />
The USA mission in Brussels was<br />
Klaipėdos jūrų uoste veikiančios Laivo informacinės sistemos duomenis<br />
