Customs transit<br />
Trader module enabling business<br />
entities to submit electronic transit<br />
declarations to the Lithuanian<br />
Customs has been introduced.<br />
Since 1 January 2006, transit<br />
declarations have been presented<br />
electronically.<br />
In 2006, about 450 000 Com–<br />
munity (common) transit procedu–<br />
res were cleared at the Lithuanian<br />
Customs, 2 867 investigations re–<br />
garding the non–discharged Com–<br />
munity/common transit procedu–<br />
res were carried out.<br />
Every month, the meetings<br />
with the representatives from the<br />

TIR department of the carriers<br />
association “Linava” take place and Transit declarations are submitted to the customs electronically.<br />
issues relating to the discharge of<br />
TIR operations are solved. Within<br />
the reference period, 35 enterprises<br />
were accepted to, and 46 enterprises were deprived of the right to benefit from the application of the TIR system. In total,<br />
1011 carrier enterprises belong to the TIR system.<br />
Implementation of CAP measures on export<br />
A new version of Instruction for organising physical examination at the competent Customs office of export of<br />
agricultural products subject to export refunds was prepared.<br />
The auditors of the Agriculture Directorate of the European Commission carried out in Lithuania the audit mission of<br />
the payments of export refunds. In the course of the audit, the documentation of physical examinations and substitution<br />
checks as well as statistical information were reviewed.<br />
Customs procedures with economic impact<br />
In the order set by the Director General of the Customs Department, information on inward processing authorisations<br />
issued is regularly provided to the EC TAXUD (in total, 24 messages were submitted).<br />
The Lithuanian Customs representatives participated in the meetings of the Section on Customs Procedures with<br />
Economic Impact of the Customs Code Committee, wherein 13 positions of Lithuania were submitted in respect of<br />
the applications for processing under Customs control furnished by the Customs administrations of Ireland, Sweden,<br />
Belgium, Spain, Netherlands and France.<br />
