OUR TOWN<br />
The <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Ludlow</strong> is a suburban community located in the northwest corner <strong>of</strong> metropolitan Springfield. Boston is 84<br />
miles east <strong>of</strong> <strong>Ludlow</strong> and Worcester is 47 miles eastward. The 20,714 <strong>Town</strong> residents believe that <strong>Ludlow</strong> has established<br />
itself as a target for industrial and retail growth while maintaining its pleasant community atmosphere.<br />
Housing is available for the elderly, the handicapped and low income families. <strong>Ludlow</strong> provides two congregate living<br />
units accommodating a total <strong>of</strong> seven individuals, and has the largest Senior Center in Western Massachusetts.<br />
<strong>Ludlow</strong> Public Schools are comprised <strong>of</strong> five schools serving approximately 3,000 students in grades K-12. In addition,<br />
the district operates an Early Childhood Center through a separate facility. St. John the Baptist School is the private<br />
parochial school in town.<br />
The Recreation Commission is in charge <strong>of</strong> the Whitney Day Camp summer program, an after school Daycare Program<br />
and facilitates the operation <strong>of</strong> the Thompson Memorial State Pool which is located at Whitney Park.<br />
The Community Center provides the Latch Key program for children as well as a summer youth camp and other<br />
recreational activities. Club memberships are available for families to partake in their exercise program, pool and game<br />
room facilities.<br />
The town also maintains six parks, two excellent golf courses and is only minutes away from cultural and entertainment<br />
facilities in the greater Springfield area with access to both the Massachusetts Turnpike and Route 91.<br />
