“By being part of the 7/8 program I’ve become
more familiar with the people and the high school
surroundings. I’m looking forward to high school.
In fact, I’ll have a Grade 9 credit to start with!”
“This dynamic program offers various
advancements for the students. These include:
a technology class, partial rotary, a student and
athletic council, yearbook and reach ahead
experiences. As a teacher, I feel that these
opportunities prepare students for their future
secondary and post-secondary education. A
7-12 program provides an innovative, exciting
educational experience.”
WHY ENROL IN GRADE 7 AND 8 AT KORAH COLLEGIATE
Korah strives to provide the best possible
educational environment, one which enables the
individual to realize intellectual and personal potential
within an atmosphere of cooperation and respect.
The Korah 7 and 8 Program
Our 7-12 Program provides students with a
gradual transition into secondary school. Students
experience a partial rotary timetable, which makes
the transition to a secondary school routine easier.
Grade 7 and 8 students find themselves in an
environment that includes specialized rooms,
lockers, a cafeteria, athletics, extra-curricular clubs
and laptop technology.
Depending on timetable availability, Grade 8 students
(in consultation with parents) can reach ahead and
take a Grade 9 class. They receive credit for the
course giving them a head start in high school.
Strong relationships with caring adults are important.
Grade 9 students often reach back to access
their Grade 7 and 8 teachers for academic advice,
counseling and support in their Grade 9 and 10 years.
