Central States Water Environment Association (CSWEA), which is comprised of water
pollution control facilities operators & managers, consulting engineers, regulatory agency
personnel, and educational personnel, invites you to participate in the 81st Annual
Conference to be held May 19-22, 2008 at the Sheraton South Hotel, Bloomington, MN.
The CSWEA Annual Meeting provides an excellent opportunity for your organization to
market your products and/or services to decision makers involved in all facets of the water
pollution control field.
The exhibits will be open one day only, on Tuesday, May 20 from Noon to 5 p.m. The
conference is being arranged so that technical presentations will not be in competition
with the exhibition time.
To ensure maximum attendance in the exhibit hall, we are offering:
• Early registration includes listing in the Central States Water magazine
• No concurrent technical sessions
• Conference break session refreshments served only in the exhibit hall.
• Free Exhibitor’s Reception gathering in the exhibit hall between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m.
on Tuesday with complimentary wine, beer, soft drinks and snacks
• Twelve, Five (5) minute vendor presentations spaced 15 minutes apart. Raffle tickets
for a flat screen TV will be presented to those in attendance at each vendor talk.
Cost. The cost for an 8’ x 10’ exhibit space, plus two members, is $550.00 if the application is postmarked prior to
February 15, 2007. Preliminary booth assignments will be presented in the Central States Water magazine, April 2008
edition. Booth applications postmarked after February 15, 2007, will be $600.00 and will not be listed in the magazine.
Additional Exhibit-Only Registration. Additional exhibit-only passes can be purchased for exhibitors desiring more than
two members per booth. The cost for the Exhibitor Exhibit-Only pass is $70.00 and includes the Wednesday exhibit lunch
and Exhibitor’s Reception. You MUST purchase these passes and note the person’s name on your exhibit registration
form to have more than two persons at your booth.
Electrical Cost. Electrical power (110V, 20 amp) connections are available. The cost is $75.00 per connection per booth.
Exhibitors requesting electrical power connection(s) following the May 9, 2008 application deadline will be required to
make electrical arrangements directly with the Sheraton.
Attendee Exhibit-Only Registration. This years conference will also provide the opportunity for you to provide clients
entrance to the exhibits without having to attend/pay for the full day’s conference activities. This is a great opportunity for
water quality professionals in the near-area that only have a portion of the day and/or only want to attend the exhibit
session. This pass costs $10 and covers the Tuesday Exhibitor’s Luncheon and Reception. Expo-Only passes include only
those events held in the Expo Hall. The registration form includes a line item for this Attendee Exhibit-Only pass. You
will be asked to provide names for the pass recipients on a follow-up confirmation sheet. The exhibit-only attendees will
check in at the registration desk and receive their name tag, which is also proof of conference registration.
Full Conference Registration. Full conference registration information will be provided in February 2008.
Hotel Accommodations. Rooms are available for reservation at the Sheraton South Hotel. (800) 325-3535. Ask for the
CSWEA Rate of $125.00 per night for a standard room. Cabana Rooms adjacent the Garden Court may be reserved at a
rate of $145 per night (make your reservations early for Cabana Rooms as they are anticipated to go fast!).
Confirmation Packet. Please note that upon receipt of your exhibit registration, a confirmation packet will be sent in early
May 2008. On-line registration for exhibitors and conference registration will also be available at www.CSWEA.org.
The final application DEADLINE is Friday, May 9, 2008. But please get your application and rental fee in by February to
save money and to be listed in the organization’s magazine!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. You can also consult the organization’s website at
www.cswea.org for other conference information and to download copies of the exhibit registration form. Look under
Events-CSWEA in the left navigation pane.
Greetings,
This year, Central States will be holding its annual meeting at the Sheraton South Hotel, in
Bloomington, MN, about 10 minutes west of the airport and the Mall of America. It is an
excellent venue and we have organized an exceptional technical program. Reservations
are now being accepted for the vendor exhibition. In the attached packet, note that the
early exhibitor registration deadline has been moved up from what it has been in the past.
The main reason is to meet the publishing deadlines for the conference issue of our new
Central States Water magazine. If your company registers by February 15, 2008, you will
be assured of a listing in the magazine showing your location on the exhibition floor.
Also, if you choose to become a sponsor by this early deadline, your name will be listed
on the sponsors’ page in the magazine. Of course, those who contribute at the higher
levels will have a more prominent listing. There will also be sponsor poster boards placed
at key locations during the conference.
New for the 2008 conference:
• There will be no concurrent technical papers during the exhibits.
• Cabana rooms in the pool area will be available on Monday & Tuesday evening
(after 9:00 p.m.) for those who wish to provide hospitality suites for their friends
and associates. Arrangements for these hospitality suites should be made on your
own by contacting the Sheraton. The Sheraton has blocked out a small block of
Cabana Rooms for us, so please ask for the CSWEA room rates.
We will continue with the 5 minute vendor talks this year, as this was a big success last
year. The Water for People silent auction will also be continued. This is the charity of
choice for CSWEA/WEF and I very strongly encourage all exhibitors to participate.
I want to thank you for your time and I look forward to seeing you at the conference. If
you have any questions please contact me or one of the key people listed in this mailing.
Sincerely,
Dennis Lindeke
