management s<strong>of</strong>tware is also available now. This<br />

is a real step forward for Rion, AS-60 is very<br />

intuitive and quick. Just drag and drop the data<br />

and audio files from the NL-52 (or the NL-<br />

31/32) and the results are shown graphically<br />

(with audio file icons where audio is present)<br />

in seconds.<br />

Users will have to wait for early 2012 for<br />

octaves and third-octaves. However, the NX-<br />

42RT will <strong>of</strong>fer full data logging functionality and<br />

percentiles in octaves or third-octaves and an<br />

additional broadband sub-channel to enable<br />

even more parameters to be measured<br />

simultaneously. Remote control and download<br />

will be available for the NL-52 (but not for some<br />

time) and users who require this are<br />

encouraged to continue using the Rion NL-32<br />

and ANV Measurement Systems remote control<br />

and download s<strong>of</strong>tware (RCDS).<br />

It may be surprising that although the NL-52<br />

represents a significant step forward<br />

technologically, pricing is very similar to the<br />

Svantek UK<br />

Launches a cost effective vibration monitoring instrument<br />

Svantek UK is the new joint venture<br />

between Svantek S.p.o.o <strong>of</strong> Poland and<br />

AcS<strong>of</strong>t Ltd. Svantek is the designer <strong>of</strong><br />

innovative noise and vibration monitoring<br />

instrumentation. The SV106 is the latest<br />

human vibration analyser from Svantek that<br />

can measure both hand-arm and whole body<br />

vibration. The analyser can simultaneously<br />

measure vibration on both hands using two<br />

triaxial accelerometers.<br />

The SV106 is a six-channel instrument for<br />

vibration and a two-channel instrument for<br />

static force. It can also be used to measure<br />

whole body vibration when used with a seat<br />

accelerometer. This pocket-sized instrument<br />

therefore provides a completely new<br />

approach to vibration monitoring.<br />

It provides both octave and third-octave band<br />

analysis and fully complies with ISO<br />

8041:2005, ISO 2631-1,2&5 (including VDV<br />

and MTVV) and ISO 5349.<br />

Data from the instrument can easily be<br />

downloaded to any PC using a USB interface<br />

and the dedicated SvanPC+ s<strong>of</strong>tware. The<br />

instrument contains advanced data logging<br />

including spectral analysis and the memory<br />

can be expanded using a micro SD card.<br />

The SV106 is a cost-effective tool for handarm<br />

and whole body vibration measurement:<br />

a complete solution for HAV monitoring is<br />

available in the UK for under £2,500.<br />
