THE TEN COMMANDMENTS.<br />

<strong>the</strong> Decalogue be not<br />

originally in verse, yet among us it<br />

hath been heret<strong>of</strong>ore usually sung<br />

because, <strong>the</strong>refore, it may be a me<strong>an</strong>s<br />

to present <strong>the</strong>se precepts somewhat <strong>the</strong> <strong>of</strong>tener<br />

to remembr<strong>an</strong>ce, make <strong>the</strong>m <strong>the</strong> more frequently<br />

repeated, <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> stir up those who sing <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> hear<br />

<strong>the</strong>m to <strong>the</strong> better perform<strong>an</strong>ce <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir duties,<br />

<strong>the</strong>y are here also inserted <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> fitted to be sung.
