Work Begins on the New Sports Hall
Work is about to start on a new £2m community sports hall at Longfield Academy of Sport. The
development will include the construction of a new 4 court sports hall, changing rooms, community
gym, lawn tennis association standard tennis courts and additional car parking.
This is an exciting time for the Academy, who have been trying to secure funding for this facility for the
last ten years. It is anticipated that completion will take place in summer 2013. The sports hall, once
complete, should have a significant positive effect on the learning experience of pupils in the Academy,
but will also become a local hub for a variety of sporting and community activities.
