Kirmesmodell o.ä. oder als freihängende
Lichterkette, jeweils innerhalb einer Modelleisenbahnanlage
- zum Betrieb in trockenen Räumen
- zum Betrieb mit einer Betriebsspannung
von maximal 16 V.
Jeder darüber hinaus gehende Gebrauch
der Benutzer.
Montage der Lichterketten
Aufgrund ihrer ungewöhnlich hohen Flexibilität
können die Viessmann-Lichterketten
den individuellen Gegebenheiten entsprechend
geformt werden. Durch Kombination
der 12-, 6- und 3-fachen Ketten können
Sie die von Ihnen benötigten Längen problemlos
realisieren.
Klebeband)
umhüllt werden. Eine gute Wärmeabfuhr
muß gewährleistet sein, da
der Widerstand mitunter sehr heiß werden
kann.
Den Widerstand während des Betriebes
nicht berühren (Erwärmung)!
Lichterkette nicht zu scharf biegen und
knicken (Biegeradius maximal 1 cm, siehe
Abbildung 4). Bruchgefahr!
Schließen Sie die beiden Anschlußkabel
der Lichterkette an je einem Pol des
Transformators an. Mehrere Lichterketten
werden parallelgeschaltet. In der Abbildung
Bedarf können Sie mit Hilfe des Universal-
Ein-Aus-Umschalters 5550 von Viessmann
die Lichterketten ein- und ausschalten.
Achtung!
Alle Anschluss- und
Montagearbeiten sind nur bei
abgeschalteter Betriebsspannung
durchzuführen!
Die Stromquellen müssen so
abgesichert sein, dass es im
Falle eines Kurzschlusses nicht
zum Kabelbrand kommen kann.
Hinweis: Ein ruhigeres Leuchten erhalten
Sie, wenn Sie ein Powermodul 5215 von
Viessmann zwischen Trafo und Lichterketten
schalten. Das durch Wechselspannung
verursachte Flackern (50 Hz) wird dadurch
vermieden (Abbildung 3).

Before using this product for the first time
read this user guide attentively.
Using the Product for its
correct Purpose
This product is intended for use
- to build it on a model house, a
roundabout or other fair models etc. or as
a cantilever light chain within a model
railway layout.
- to operate it within dry rooms.
- to operate it with a power supply up to 16
V AC/DC.
Using the product for any other purpose is
not approved and is considered incorrect.
The manufacturer cannot be held
responsible for any damage resulting from
the improper use of this product; liability in
such a case rests with the user.
Installing the Light Chains
Due to their unusually high flexibility,
Viessmann light chains can be shaped to
fit individual circumstances. By combining
the 12, 6, and 3-light chains, you can
easily achieve the lengths you require. To
install on a wall, drill a hole 2 mm in diameter
at the starting point of the light chain
and smooth any roughness in the hole.
Carefully pull the connection cable through
the hole and glue the light chain to the wall
of the model (Figure 1) using a small
amount of quick-drying glue (preferably a
®
gel such as Loctite 454, applied thinly!).
Connect the light chain according to the
following section.
Please note:
The light chain must not be affixed to
metallic surfaces because the rear of the
light chain is not insulated. Danger of
short circuiting!
The resistor and the diode on the one
connection cable may not be removed.
The resistor and the diode may not be
surrounded with insulating material
(such as adhesive tape). Good heat
removal must be ensured because the
resistor can become very hot.
Do not touch the resistor during
operation (it could be hot)!
Do not bend light chain too far and
cause a kink (bending radius min. 1 cm,
see Figure 4). Risk of breakage!
Connecting the Light
Chains
Viessmann light chains are intended for
connection with a model train transformer
Abbildung 4 Figure 4
r min = 1 cm
with an alternating output voltage of 16 V
(such as Viessmann 5200). Connect one
of the two connection cables of the light
chain at each pole of the transformer.
Several light chains can be connected in
parallel. The connection is illustrated in
Figure 2. If you wish, you can use the
universal ON/OFF switch 5550 from
Viessmann to switch the light chain on and
off.
Bruchgefahr!
Do not bend light chain too far and
cause a kink. Risk of breakage!
All connection and installation
work must be performed with
the operating voltage switched
off!
The power source must be
protected so that no cable fire
can occur if there is a short
circuit. Use only model railroad
transformers built in
compliance with VDE/EN.
Note: Softer lighting can be achieved if
you connect a 5215 power module from
Viessmann between the transformer and
light chain. This avoids the flickering (50
Hz) caused by the alternating voltage
(Figure 3).
