1. On 1 June XXXX, you were scheduled for promotion to the
grade of captain.
2. Prior to the release of the promotion authority, you
received nonjudicial punishment for disobeying a lawful order
and fraternization as stated in enclosure (1).
3. After careful consideration of the information, your
promotion has been delayed. This action is being taken under
the provisions of the references.
4. You are entitled to submit matters for consideration in
response to the promotion delay.
5. Enclosure (2) is an acknowledgment of receipt. Please note
your decision and return this acknowledgment upon your receipt
of this letter. Enclosure (2) and any statements you wish to
submit should be addressed, via your chain of command, to the
Commandant of the Marine Corps (JAM), Headquarters, U.S. Marine
Corps, 3000 Marine Corps Pentagon, Washington, DC 20350-3000.
Any statement or information you wish to provide must be
submitted within 10 days of receipt of this letter.
