Fairlight Dream II
Fairlight has launched version 2.0 software for its CC-1 accelerated Dream II platform,
delivering an array of new features for
the professional user. New Fleximap
software assists assignment to surface
controls, with over two hundred premapped
plug-ins. Fairlight’s major
upgrade also boasts processing blocks
that can be instantly rearranged
in any order for each channel, and
native processing performed in 36-bit
floating point resolution by their FPGA
engine, guaranteeing zero-latency and availability on every channel in the system.
Also new from Fairlight is the option of the Xynergi Centre Section panel for the
company’s popular Constellation consoles, bringing SLICK technology to the series.
The first Constellation with XCS panel is now installed at Highway Television in Paris.

2nd Sense Picks Up S5 Fusion
2nd Sense Broadcast has become the first
company in the UK to install a Euphonix S5
Fusion digital mixing audio system. The S5
Fusion is a 24-fader, 78-channel system with
EuCon DAW control of a Pyramix digital audio
workstation, and is housed in Theatre A of their
newly opened post house at Hertfordshirebased
Elstree Film Studios. “We had pushed our
current technology to the limit and needed
to take a step forward, especially to meet the growing demand for 5.1 in broadcast,”
explained Richard Sillitto, Senior Dubbing Mixer at 2nd Sense.
