• Check for ‘mid-byte’ START and STOP
Conditions
– Devices should accept START or STOP during
any bit interval
• Check for tolerance to runt pulses
– Most devices behave well under specified
operating conditions
– …but the IPMB may be subject to ‘noise’ or poorcitizen
devices that could ‘glitch’ clock and data lines
– Try placing a pulse generator on the bus and
grounding the clock and data lines at various rates and
pulse widths.
