Although we had some very impressive victories, we were also subject to a couple of large defeats against some very confident opposition. Match Results Football 1 st XVIII: Whitefriars 15.9-99 def. The best players in the 1 st XIII this week were Nicholas Garrett, Jackson Freeman, Ryan Turner and Tim Jones (who took a spectacular mark and booted a match winning 8 goals). The best players in the 2 nd XIII this week were Daniel Tester, Matthew Larosa, James Potter and Joseph Tambakis (who also kicked 8 goals). Our Year 7 (1) football side also continued their solid start to the season defeating Parade College. The players held off a fast finishing Parade challenge in the last quarter to win by 6 points. The highlight for Whitefriars soccer this week was the very exciting 5 all draw played between our Senior (2) soccer side and Mazenod. After leading at half time 3 goals to 2, our boys unfortunately had to play with only 10 players for the majority of the second half. During this time Mazenod took control of the game and with 10 seconds to go led 4 goals to 5. Thankfully, our boys fought the game out and were able to kick an equalizing goal in the final 10 seconds to draw the game. Our goal scorers this week were: James Campisi (2), Sam Khoury (1), Michael Tricarico (1), Prabdip Pandher (1) and Nicholas Kelly (1). College Services Mrs Marie Cameron College Services Coordinator Wednesday College Service ladies - we would appreciate your assistance in the Archive Room with Mrs Anne McKenna. Thank you so much to those ladies who have already been helping. The work is very interesting and if you can spare a couple of hours we would appreciate it. Special thanks to Jenny McMahon who has been assisting Anne McKenna on a regular basis in the Archives. Jenny has enjoyed the work and we thank her for her time. If you have difficulty attending on your rostered day for Canteen or College Services please try to arrange a swap. Lost property We have a variety of clothes returned from the Year 9 camp including boots, sleeping bag and clothes. Please call in at the Mothers Room next to the canteen to retrieve any missing items. We currently have a blue bag with sports shirt, a wallet and other items. Any lost clothing that is clearly marked is returned to the students via a notice in the Daily Bulletin. Please remind you sons to check when items of clothing are lost.
