BROKEN DREAMS —
MENDED
linda westrick
NVP
Independent Consultant, National Vice President
Linda Westrick Nation; Carmel, IN
I am in awe of this wonderful company called Arbonne. Through my Arbonne experience,
I have learned all about living in abundance and helping others do the
same. I have also been able to reach goals in my life that were at one time inconceivable.
I am forever indebted to ENVP Sandy Poe for bringing me the NutriMinC ®
RE 9® anti-aging products to try in my home. From the moment I used them, I loved
what they did to my skin. At the time, I was searching for a teaching job, while
working two other part-time jobs. I already had my hands full, so I did not have any
desire to join her in business with a company that I had never heard of. But after
hearing the passion and the enthusiasm in her voice when she spoke about this
amazing opportunity, I said, “yes,” to Arbonne.
My husband and I were struggling financially and became just like many others with
multiple jobs barely surviving from paycheck to paycheck. Our situation was not
working for us. We never saw each other and rarely saw the children. That was
enough to show me that something had to change! Even though I signed on with
Arbonne, I have to admit that I was skeptical in the beginning. But once I plugged
into the system, overcame my fears and got busy, it actually began to work. I love
to show others that if they step out of their comfort zones and do what most will not
do, then they, too, can live the life of their dreams. I shudder to think of what my life
would look like today, if I had not made the decision to join this business. My main
goal for wanting to succeed with my Arbonne business was to make my kids proud.
Because of the struggles they saw and experienced while growing up, it was very
important to me to show them with faith, perseverance and the right opportunity,
broken dreams can be mended. I now have a legacy to leave my children.
You cannot grow personally, if you have only had smooth sailing throughout your
life. Arbonne, like life, has not come without its challenges. But challenges are what
build character. During my Arbonne journey, my faith in God, along with my determination,
drive and desire, kept me going. I decided a long time ago, not to take
myself too seriously. The mistakes I have made on my journey have served as a lesson
to me and others to keep moving forward and never look back. Courage grows
in direct correlation to the size of your determination to accomplish your dreams.
No one else can do it for you. I, myself, have had to dig deep and find the courage
to step up to the plate and be determined to do whatever it took to reach the prize.
In the process, I realized that my dreams and goals would eventually come true. I
am now determined to help others on my team to realize they, too, can accomplish
great things with Arbonne.
My first month of NVP qualification was in April 2006, which coincided with NTC.
The event was so amazing and the momentum we gained from it pushed us to first
step NVP. But when May hit, we were suddenly swimming against the current. At
NTC, I learned that to believe is to see. That simple thought became my mantra,
which ultimately carried me through May. Despite the setbacks and the fact that others
were advising me that I needed to have a contingency plan just in case I did not
finish this month, I never gave up. I knew in my heart of hearts that it was our time
to become a Nation. So, I just kept focused on the simple thought until we reached
our goal at the end of May.
NVP did not just happen overnight. We had prepared for this moment for
over two years. I had done my homework, spent time on personal growth
and development, listened to my upline and made many mistakes, which I
turned into opportunities to grow. Another factor in my success were the
efforts of my amazing team. They never cease to amaze me. The title of
National Vice President belongs to all of them. You cannot reach this
goal without the help of everyone pulling together at the same time. We
were unified in our goal. Now they, too, are on their way to their own
respective Nations.
One of my fundamental beliefs, which I have put into practice and have
taught my team to do, is to empower leaders. I hold Manager calls and trainings
with other leaders across the country to help motivate and guide others
to be leaders. When they are ready, I step aside and give them the responsibility
and allow their teams to see them as leaders. This has created great
leaders on our team. It is all about having them discover their untapped
potential. I love watching them take ownership of their teams and develop
the leaders around them. You know you have a solid organization when you
have a team full of leaders.
To ENVP Sandy Poe: Thank you for believing in me when I did not believe
in myself. You have shown me that perseverance pays off. I want to follow
your lead. To ENVP Stacy Thorn: You have answered all my questions and
concerns when I needed your help. The one thing I constantly received from
both of you was encouragement; encouragement is oxygen to the soul,
which is what keeps us going. Also to the rest of my upline, ENVP Cindy
Pipkin, ENVP Meloni Barkley, ENVP Jennifer Harbour and ENVP Deb
Arnold: Thank you for your guidance.
It does not seem fair to just say, “Thank you,” to my dream team. But since
words of gratitude are all I have right now — thank you, all!
To my first business builder and my daughter, ERVP Courtney Hudson: You
have shown character and leadership in motivating and inspiring me. You
are great at making me laugh and helping me discover things about myself.
You also are great at leading and influencing others in a positive way. It is
success strategy:
“
Go for your dreams, never give up
”
and help others along the way.
evident that you care about your team and that they respect you. I am thankful
we can go through this journey together. Your incredible husband, Kevin,
and my precious granddaughter, Ella, the light of our life, are blessings in
our lives. I look forward to spending more time together as we build our
Arbonne careers.
To ERVP Alison Allen: You are an amazing young woman with whom I have
been able to share so much. You have taught me to never stay still, but to
keep moving. We have discovered so much about ourselves that it is kind of
scary and exhilarating all at the same time. It is going to be exciting to
see what is in store for us next. Your husband, Jason, has been invaluable
not only to me, but to our whole team. It is great to watch you as leaders
cast the vision to those around you. Thank you for letting me be myself
around you.
To RVP Brooke Wilson: You are a great example to your team. I have
watched you overcome many obstacles in your life and I applaud you. You
have stepped into leadership with grace and confidence.
To RVP Jo Spangler: Your faith has inspired me to be a better me. It has been
so great to see how you have grown in Arbonne. You are having a positive
influence on the lives of many. Thank you for keeping the faith that there was
always a Nation waiting for us.
To my Area Managers, including Stacey Porter, Selena Gurley, Barb
Gaston, Pam Threet, Mary Gothi, Maren Oslund, Joyce Kirkendal and
Tammie Huntington: You all will be ordering your white Mercedes-Benzes
this year! You have become great “Arbonnites” and amazing leaders. No
one ever climbed a hill just by looking at it. You have started your climb;
now, press onward and upward.
To all my DMs: You are so precious to me. Your journey has just begun.
Remember, the more you grow on the inside, the better equipped you will
be to become a complete leader. Keep the faith and do not sit back and take
what comes; go for it!
my great friends, Becky and Cecil McCord: You all have been there for me
so many times and helped me up when I had fallen.
My children are incredible. We are a family of survivors. To my daughter,
Cassandra: You are a young woman whom I admire and have so much fun
with. Thank you for teaching me not to play it safe all the time. I learned
courage from you. We are very blessed to have Chad, my son-in-law, join
our family. He is a man of integrity and humility. To my son, Jordan: Thank
you for being my cheerleader and for making us all laugh. I am proud of the
man you have become. You are a big dreamer; hold on to those dreams and
have faith because they will someday become a reality. To my son,
Jonathan: You are a wealth of information and have such a heart for God.
I learn so much from you. You have shown me that the most important thing
is God and His grace. To Courtney, Kevin and Ella: You bring me joy. Go
for your dreams and never give up.
To my husband, Chris: Thank you for working so hard to keep us all together
and always being there for me whether I was down or up. The fun times are
just ahead of us. We have a lot of catching up to do! Arbonne is giving us the
freedom of choice. Now we can choose to travel, be with our children and
grandchildren, or anything else our hearts desire. Our dreams are being
mended one at a time.
To those who are thinking about taking this journey with Arbonne: What is
holding you back Do you have any broken dreams that need to be mended
Arbonne could be one of the best decisions of your life!
