10. THE FIPRESCI JURY (INTERNATIONAL CRITICS)<br />

Ronald Bergan<br />

Ronald Bergan, Vice-President <strong>of</strong> FIPRESCI (International Federation <strong>of</strong> Film Critics), is a regular<br />

contributor to a number <strong>of</strong> British national newspapers, as The Guardian, has read scripts for <strong>the</strong><br />

European Screen Fund and been consultant and writer on a number <strong>of</strong> TV documentaries. He teaches<br />

Film History and Film Theory at Florida International University in Miami, and has written over 20 books on<br />

<strong>the</strong> cinema, including biographies <strong>of</strong> Jean Renoir, Sergei Eisenstein, Francis Coppola and <strong>the</strong> Coen<br />

Bro<strong>the</strong>rs. He is currently editing a book <strong>of</strong> Truffaut interviews.<br />

Ramiro Cristobal Muñoz<br />

Born in Madrid, Ramiro Cristobal Muñoz graduated in Political Science and Information Science. He<br />

started collaborating for various Spanish and foreign magazines and newspapers such as Cambio 16, El<br />

País, Cinemanía or Hoy in Argentina. In 2002, he teaches Cinema and Literature at <strong>the</strong> University<br />

Complutense <strong>of</strong> Madrid and in 2004 History <strong>of</strong> Cinema at <strong>the</strong> casa de Cultura de San Lorenzo de El<br />

Escorial. Film critic and author since already 20 years, he wrote different books including a biography <strong>of</strong><br />

Luis Buñuel and Jean Gabin, and has done over 500 interviews.<br />

Laszlo Kriston<br />

Born in 1979. He was 14 when his short film script called ’Oh, mami!’ was produced <strong>by</strong> <strong>the</strong> Hungarian<br />

Television, which earned him a CIAK Junior Award in Prague. Graduated at <strong>the</strong> Hungarian Dance<br />

Academy. As a classical ballet student, he appeared on <strong>the</strong> stage <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Hungarian State Opera House in<br />

various ballet pieces, operas and gala events throughout <strong>the</strong> 90’s, and danced in front <strong>of</strong> numerous<br />

royalties such as Lady Diana and Queen Elisabeth II. In 1999 he started to write about films, and a year<br />

later began working in <strong>the</strong> international <strong>festival</strong> circuit. While traveling extensively to <strong>the</strong> major film<br />

<strong>festival</strong>s in Europe (Cannes, Berlin, Venice, San Sebastian, Karlovy Vary, Moscow etc.), he covers<br />

Magyar Hirlap a leading Hungarian newspaper andVOX mozimagazin, a monthly movie magazine on<br />

<strong>the</strong>se events. He has done over 120 interviews with world-class filmmakers from Hollywood and Europe.<br />

He also publishes articles on a broad range <strong>of</strong> subjects such as film industry, television, mass media and<br />

spirituality. Frequently serves on <strong>the</strong> juries <strong>of</strong> FIPRESCI.<br />
