Local Eats
Angelo’s Pizza
Fraboni’s
108 Owen Road n 222-6632
Fast and delicious Italian sandwiches
from a great, family-owned neighborhood
deli. Owner Steve is a kayaker, so he gets
bonus points for that.
nothing on the menu is over $12. Order a
The pizzas are as big as dinner plates
and really filling. Local produce and dairy
is always used in the growing season, and
they make their own mozzarella!
The Alchemy
1980 Atwood Avenue n 204-7644
The Alchemy has tasty sandwiches with
out-of-the-ordinary sides, like wasabi
green beans. The atmosphere is relaxed,
it’s very kid-friendly and they feature a
delectable beer selection.
Weary Traveler
burgers are especially good.
Essen Haus
514 East Wilsonstrasse n 255-4674
Great bangers and mash, and the best
liver dumpling soup. Boots of beer and
polka are sure to please a lively bunch of
sausage-chomping Midwesterners.
very reasonable.
Sardine
617 Williamson Street n 441-1600
Really a wonderful bistro in the heart of
Madison. They have Jim’s favorite mussel
prep in the city. He eats it just for the
interest and variety to even the basics.
Jim likes taking people here because
there’s always something for every taste.
