umbrellas, great reggae music.
Pizza Brutta

This place has authentic Neapolitan pizza
right out of a wood-burning oven and
nothing on the menu is over $12. Order a
la carte and they’ll bring it right to your table.
The pizzas are as big as dinner plates
and really filling. Local produce and dairy
is always used in the growing season, and
they make their own mozzarella!
The Alchemy

out-of-the-ordinary sides, like wasabi
green beans. The atmosphere is relaxed,
it’s very kid-friendly and they feature a
delectable beer selection.

Pie. Good portions, reasonable price, great
tap beers including Guinness you can cut

Located in an old Taco Bell, don’t be
fooled by the exterior. David and Pauline
are Jamaican natives, preparing delicious
traditional Jamaican fare at a very reasonable
price. You’ll never leave hungry.
La Bamba Burritos

The sign says “Burritos as big as your
head.” They’re open late and pricing is
very reasonable.
Sardine

Really a wonderful bistro in the heart of
Madison. They have Jim’s favorite mussel
prep in the city. He eats it just for the
sauce alone. They do a great job of bringing
interest and variety to even the basics.
Jim likes taking people here because
there’s always something for every taste.

One of a number of family-owned authentic
taquerias. Killer guaraches, sopes, and
several good beer choices. Se habla Ingles.
Lao Laan Xang

A favorite curry place in Madison (the
curry squash is amazing). The food is delicious
and reasonably priced. Situated next
to the Barrymore Theater, it’s a great place
to start a night on the town.
