<strong>14</strong> Bhasahalf-life<strong>of</strong>16.1 ± 1.2 ms(74AL11), 12.8 ± 0.8 ms(86CU01): the weighted mean is<br />

13.8 ± 1.0 ms and we adopt it. The nature <strong>of</strong> the decay [see Table <strong>14</strong>.2] fixesJ π <strong>of</strong> <strong>14</strong> Btobe2 −<br />

(74AL11). See also (89PO1K; theor.).<br />

2. <strong>14</strong> C(π − , γ) <strong>14</strong> B Q m = 118.92<br />

A single strong transition is observed in this pion capture cross section to a state in <strong>14</strong> Bat<br />

E x =2.15 ± 0.17 MeV, Γ = 1.0 ± 0.5 MeV,withJ π =2 − . The relative branching ratio <strong>of</strong> the<br />

ground state [2 − ] to this second 2 − state is < 0.1. The data are also suggestive <strong>of</strong> the population<br />

<strong>of</strong> 2 − and 1 − states in the E x =5− 7 MeV region (83BA36).<br />

3. <strong>14</strong> C(n, p) <strong>14</strong> B Q m = −19.86<br />

Ground-state angular distributions have been reported at E n =65MeV(86FOZX, 88DRZZ;<br />

prelim.).<br />

4. <strong>14</strong> C( 7 Li, 7 Be) <strong>14</strong> B Q m = −21.51<br />
