the Port of Hamburg’s brochure focussing
on project and breakbulk
cargo. This will inform you about
the wide range of services available
in Hamburg and its partner
ports in the metropolitan region
and along the river Elbe.
The aim of this brochure is to
provide useful information and
contacts for the port’s customers
worldwide, for businesses involved in the shipping of
project and breakbulk cargo, the logistics and the maritime
trade sector as well as for industries and commercial
enterprises engaged in turnkey projects and the
heavylift trade.
You will find a lot of detail about multi-purpose and container
terminals in the Port of Hamburg; a look at future
development in the port and information about cargo
related services such as packing, storage, transport
and so forth. In addition, we’ll focus on our neighbouring
partner ports. In the brochure we also provide
descriptions of services provided by top-level companies
located in the port: everything from roro handling
through container packing and stevedoring to customs

The Port of Hamburg is one of the most flexible and efficient universal ports in Europe.
Its modern cargo terminals can handle all types of cargo.
More than 320 berths, almost 40 km of quays, over 200
container gantries and heavy lift cranes, cranes for dry
bulk, equipment for all kinds of liquid cargo as well as
ro-ro and multi-purpose terminals – these are just a few
of the cargo handling facilities that make Hamburg into
an extremely efficient and versatile port.
Hamburg is a port for all cargoes; break bulk, project
cargo and other conventional general cargo cargoes
play a crucial role in its business.
