CFM110 FLORIDA LAWS FOR SKIN<br />

CFM111 SHAMPOOING AND DRAPING<br />

(10 Hours/10 Services)<br />

The proper techniques <strong>of</strong> draping, hair brushing, shampooing, the identification <strong>of</strong> scalp diseases and disorders, cranial bones and muscles, hair conditioning,<br />

and scalp treatments.<br />

CFM112 BASIC MAKEUP CONSULTATION AND GUIDELINES<br />

(9 Hours/120 Services)<br />

Mastering the makeup application and the clients’ needs and preference allows students to develop confidence in their performance.<br />

CFM113 FACE SHAPES AND CORRECTIVE MAKEUP<br />

(76 Hours/20 Services)<br />

Throughout this course students will be able to determine the different facial features and the procedures for contouring and highlighting makeup step by step;<br />

learn the magic <strong>of</strong> corrective makeup to create the effects <strong>of</strong> balance and transforming facial features to appear perfect; the knowledge <strong>of</strong> how to blend the<br />

shades for the various events for day or evening plus have the ability to use the proper techniques to apply corrective colors.<br />

CFM114 MAKEUP SERVICES OVERVIEW<br />

(75 Hours)<br />

Students will learn the psychological aspects <strong>of</strong> makeup and the different types <strong>of</strong> cosmetics, together with an understanding <strong>of</strong> cosmetic color theory; will refine<br />

the skills and develop confidence while learning the full range <strong>of</strong> possibilities and techniques in the field.<br />

CFM115 SPECIAL OCCASION MAKEUP AND TECHNIQUES<br />

(60 Hours/60Services)<br />

Proper and creative uses <strong>of</strong> cosmetics and techniques are learned by students when working in various aspects <strong>of</strong> the industry: Makeup for brides, special light<br />

effects, theater and television, personal makeup lessons, makeup for various ethnicities, multimedia, fantasy, and air brushing that adds a velvet-type texture.<br />

CFM116 CAREERS AS A MAKEUP ARTIST<br />

(20 Hours)<br />

Students will learn how to market themselves in different aspects <strong>of</strong> the industry: TV/film, print, retail, runway shows, special occasion, freelance, boutiques<br />

and department stores, theater, teaching, photography, product sales, client advisements, among many more. They will also learn how to create a portfolio to be<br />

able to market themselves as a Makeup Artist in the industry.<br />

CFM117 HIV/AIDS<br />

(4 Hours)<br />

Education on the transmission, control, treatment and prevention <strong>of</strong> HIV and AIDS; discussion <strong>of</strong> attitudes and behavior in dealing with individuals who may have<br />

the virus or syndrome; explanation <strong>of</strong> Board requirements regarding license renewal and completion <strong>of</strong> the Board approved education course on HIV and AIDS.<br />

All hours and services are those required by the Florida Department <strong>of</strong> Business and Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Regulation (DBPR).<br />

Note: All programs are taught in a cycle. Students are able to start at any point <strong>of</strong> the cycle and still fulfill all program requirements.<br />

BOOKS<br />

Milady’s Standard Esthetics Fundamentals Textbook and the BSA Comprehensive Makeup book.<br />

EQUIPMENT / MATERIALS<br />

Students will receive a uniform, an equipment bag, and a facial and makeup kit with all the necessary instruments and materials to perform the required services.<br />

GRADUATION<br />

After a student completes 900 hours, services, exams and fulfills all financial obligations to the school, a diploma will be awarded.<br />

COMPLETION TIME<br />

Completion time depends on the number <strong>of</strong> hours the student attends weekly. Based on a 25 hour per week schedule, the normal time frame <strong>of</strong> completion would<br />

be 8½ months.<br />

METHOD OF PAYMENT<br />

Tuition and fee payments may be arranged on a weekly or monthly basis. The first payment is due on the first day <strong>of</strong> class, and on the same day <strong>of</strong> every week<br />

or month thereafter.<br />
