EL111 CLINICAL CONSULTATION<br />

(5 Hours)<br />

Students will learn to gather the patient’s information including their clinical history to better determine the course <strong>of</strong> treatment; explaining to the patient the<br />

procedure and real expectations <strong>of</strong> treatment. Students will also learn how to conduct a complete Health History Assessment to ensure they have the necessary<br />

documentation for every client in the practice.<br />

EL112 CLINICAL APPLICATIONS<br />

(200 Hours/Services)<br />

Students will perform all the clinical applications, which consist <strong>of</strong> hands-on and practical training in the techniques relating to the practice <strong>of</strong> Electrolysis for<br />

the following services:<br />

• Coordination Skills with Probe Holder and Forceps (5 Hours)<br />

• Insertions (15 Hours)<br />

• Sanitation/Sterilization Procedures (10 Hours)<br />

• Hands-on Equipment Instruction – Electrolysis (5 Hours)<br />

• Hands-on Equipment Instruction – Thermolysis (5 Hours)<br />

• Hands-on Equipment Instruction – Blend (5 Hours)<br />

• Client Pre/Post Treatment (5 Hours)<br />

• Client Assessment (10 Hours)<br />

• General Treatment Procedures (105 Hours)<br />

• Consultations (15 Hours)<br />

• Visuals/Library (10 Hours)<br />

• Review/Exams Preparation (10 Hours)<br />

EL113 HIV/AIDS<br />

(10 Hours)<br />

Education on transmission, control, treatment and prevention <strong>of</strong> HIV and AIDS; discussion <strong>of</strong> attitudes and behavior in dealing with individuals who may have the<br />

virus and syndrome; the blood-borne pathogens with emphasis on hepatitis (all types).<br />

All hours and services are those required by the Florida Department <strong>of</strong> Health (DOH).<br />

Note: All programs are taught in a cycle. Students are able to start at any point <strong>of</strong> the cycle and still fulfill all program requirements.<br />

BOOKS<br />

Electrolysis, Thermolysis and the Blend: The Principles and Practice <strong>of</strong> Permanent Hair Removal Book, Electrolysis Exam Review: An Excellent Guide for Students<br />

<strong>of</strong> Practitioners Preparing for Regulatory or National Certification Book, and The Blend Method Book.<br />

EQUIPMENT / MATERIALS<br />

Students will receive a uniform, an equipment bag, and an electrolysis kit with all the necessary instruments and materials to perform the required services.<br />

GRADUATION<br />

After a student completes 320 hours, services, exams and fulfills all financial obligations to the school, a diploma will be awarded.<br />

COMPLETION TIME<br />

Completion time depends on the number <strong>of</strong> hours the student attends weekly. Based on a 25 hour per week schedule, the normal time frame <strong>of</strong> completion would<br />

be 3 months.<br />

METHOD OF PAYMENT<br />

Tuition and fee payments may be arranged on a weekly or monthly basis. The first payment is due on the first day <strong>of</strong> class, and on the same day <strong>of</strong> every week<br />

or month thereafter.<br />
