Similar to the business division, Foundation Brake,<br />

the year <strong>2011</strong> started out with strong sales for air<br />

Controls, but sales flattened out during the second<br />

half of the year due to the european financial crisis.<br />

In <strong>2011</strong>, <strong>Haldex</strong> started shipping its new Modulair<br />

product to a leading european truck manufacturer<br />

with a strong global presence on the market. Since<br />

Modulair is a modular product, it can be easily<br />

adapted to different markets and customer needs.<br />

<strong>Haldex</strong> has a strong product portfolio in the trailer<br />

segment, providing complete system solutions for<br />

braking and air-suspension.<br />

<strong>Haldex</strong> received two prestigious awards <strong>2011</strong>.<br />

the trailer Innovation award <strong>2011</strong> was awarded for<br />

the trailer Control Module+ Safe parking (trCM+<br />

Safe parking), which eliminates uncontrolled rolling<br />

of the semi-trailer during parking. the technical<br />

Innovation award <strong>2011</strong> was awarded for the <strong>Haldex</strong><br />

trailer emergency Module – teM Safe parking, which<br />

eliminates the risk of damage to man and material<br />

when coupling and decoupling trailers.<br />

during the year, <strong>Haldex</strong> released its tire pressure<br />

Monitoring System (tpMS) for trailer applications.<br />

the new chassis control valve, ColaS ® +, that controls<br />

raising and lowering when loading/unloading<br />

the trailer has been selected by an additional leading<br />

eu trailer manufacturer as a standard installation.<br />

South america<br />

In Brazil, the market for commercial vehicles continues<br />

to grow, supported by a strong economy and<br />

therefore a growing demand for transportation. to<br />

improve vehicle and road safety, the Brazilian government<br />

has approved new anti-lock braking regulations<br />

to be phased in over the coming years.<br />

trailer product universal aBS (uaBS) for the South<br />

american market for the first time. In late <strong>2011</strong>,<br />

<strong>Haldex</strong> and Master Sistemas automotivos limitada,<br />

signed a long-term collaboration agreement, in<br />

which the companies undertake to cooperate in the<br />

manufacturing, sales and technical support of commercial<br />

vehicle trailer anti-lock systems (trailer aBS)<br />

for the Brazilian market.<br />

asia and the Middle east<br />

during <strong>2011</strong>, <strong>Haldex</strong> intensified efforts to develop<br />

products specifically aimed for local market<br />

demands, particularly in China and India. For the<br />

trailer segment, a new generation of aBS has been<br />

designed, called universal aBS (uaBS), to meet the<br />

expected growth in this market as a result of coming<br />

legislation. using a flexible design, economies of<br />

scale can be achieved and still meet each the specific<br />

demands of each local market.<br />

the fast-growing commercial vehicle market<br />

in China is in continuous need of more advanced<br />

technology that is adapted to meet local demands.<br />

two leading bus manufacturers in China, Higer and<br />

Golden dragon, selected <strong>Haldex</strong>’ aBS solution tK+,<br />

and <strong>Haldex</strong> started to ship products at the end of<br />

<strong>2011</strong>. tK+ is a cost-efficient and modular solution<br />

for aBS systems on trucks and buses.<br />

For the Indian market, a new product for lift<br />

axle control on trucks has been developed, IlaS-MS.<br />

With increased fuel prices, multi-axle vehicles using<br />

lift axles represent a growing market because a<br />

higher payload can be carried. In order to improve<br />

the air quality in the braking system, a new generation<br />

of the <strong>Haldex</strong> Consep was released from our<br />

production facility in India.<br />
