Announcement of TNB First Quarter<br />

Financial Results<br />

TNB announced on 20 January <strong>2010</strong> that<br />

it had recorded a net profit of RM706.3<br />

million for the First Quarter of the<br />

Financial Year ending 31 August 2009.<br />

This robust performance was attributed<br />

to the 6.1% drop in operational cost<br />

p a r t i c u l a r l y t h e l o w e r c o s t o f<br />

generation.<br />

9 February <strong>2010</strong><br />

Opening of CMC Johor Bahru<br />

Dato’ Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh,<br />

President/Chief Executive Officer of TNB<br />

officially opened the CMC Southern Zone<br />

Operation Centre in Johor Bahru on<br />

9 February <strong>2010</strong>. The Centre is located at<br />

Level 12, TNB Building, Jalan Yahya Awal,<br />

Johor Bahru, Johor.<br />

12 February <strong>2010</strong><br />

TNB-MHL Malaysia Hockey League<br />

TNB Hockey Team emerged the champion<br />

of the Malaysian Hockey League by<br />

beating Sapura on 12 February <strong>2010</strong> at<br />

Stadium Hoki Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur.<br />

TNB hockey players also won several<br />

awards from the League namely the Best<br />

Player Award, Baljit Singh Charun, the<br />

Best Goal Keeper, S. Kumar, and Best<br />

scorer, Mohd Amin Rahim who scored<br />

15 goals throughout the tournament.<br />

TNB also won the Fair Play Team<br />

Award.<br />

18 February <strong>2010</strong><br />

Launching of National Level TNB Baiti Jannati Project <strong>2010</strong><br />

TNB organised the National Level TNB Baiti Jannati Project for <strong>2010</strong> on 18 February<br />

<strong>2010</strong> at Kampung Sepayang, Kuala Rompin, Pahang Darul Makmur. Two houses<br />

were identified for assistance in <strong>2010</strong>. The event was launched by HE Dato’ Sri Dr.<br />

Jamaludin Bin Dato’ Mohd. Jarjis, Malaysia’s Ambassador to the United States and<br />

Member of Parliament for Rompin. The Baiti Jannati (My House, My Paradise)<br />

programme is a corporate social responsibility project implemented by TNB to help<br />

the rural poor repair their houses.<br />

Chinese New Year Get Together<br />

<strong>2010</strong><br />

TNB organised the <strong>2010</strong> Chinese New<br />

Year Gathering on 23 February <strong>2010</strong> to<br />

foster closer relationship between the<br />

management and employees of various<br />

races in the true spirit of 1Malaysia.
