Youth Services' Advisory Board<br />
The Youth Services Advisory Board is charged with<br />
the mission <strong>of</strong> advising and making recommendations<br />
on overall policy and program direction for the<br />
Bureau. The Advisory Board is comprised <strong>of</strong><br />
youths, parents, school representatives, town <strong>of</strong>ficials,<br />
and concerned citizens.<br />
Responsibilities <strong>of</strong> the Advisory Board<br />
include:<br />
• Resource development/fundraising<br />
• Public Awareness <strong>of</strong> Youth Services<br />
• To educate, encourage, and aid the community in<br />
recognizing its responsibility and role in the alleviation<br />
and solution <strong>of</strong> social problems involving<br />
youth.<br />
• Advocate on behalf <strong>of</strong> policies and services that<br />
promote the healthy development <strong>of</strong> children and<br />
families.<br />

to recruit at least five new members who are parents<br />
<strong>of</strong> kids who participate in our programs. Please<br />
consider volunteering. Advisory Board membership<br />
is constituted by the State Department <strong>of</strong><br />
Education. If you are interested in becoming a member<br />
<strong>of</strong> the Board, call our <strong>of</strong>fice. Meetings are held on<br />
the first Wednesday <strong>of</strong> every monthfrom 5:30-7:00<br />
p.m. at the Youth Center, 40 Norwich Ave.<br />
